The King and Queen of Spain held a lunch for President Sebastian Pinera

Queen Letizia wore a 40-year-old dress, blouse and skirt, belonging to her mother-in-law Queen Sofia

On September 7, 2021, Spanish King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia held an official lunch at Royal Palace for Chilean President Sebastian Pinera. Queen Letizia wore a 40-year-old dress today belonging to her mother-in-law. The dress was first worn by Queen Sofía in Rome in 1981. The Chilean Head of State is on an official visit to Spain, a trip as part of a 'tour' that he is taking to several European countries.

The dress is ok, not the best in her wardrobe and not a fan of the ponytail. For me this is not one of her better appearances.

    1. I am also wondering why she goes so often for a poney tail, not a fan neither.

Why are they holding their arms so perpendicular while meeting. Some new kind of meeting-technique?

This so called meeting-technique is as old as the pandemic itself. In some countries people touch each other with the lower part of the arm. In other countries they touch each other with their fist. Don't you have television and look at the daily news ? MJ

Ok, yes they do the underarm-knuckle-move a new invented etiquette, quite extraordinary to look at. But yeah times are changing.
And no I have only a radio and newspaper to my availability)):

Actually with the actual issues with Afganistan and their women, these kind of comments about women seem terrible.
In Spain we have a Minister of Iguality that probably won't allow It. Here we can do what we want without a critic, It is a shame other countries are so wrong.

To be fair, the two events were quite different. For the evening event she was there as a vase to remain mute, hand prizes, and clap ( a perfect use of her skill). The daytime event involves meeting a head of state. The 40 year old church dress and shoes are perfect for those who wrote the book on what a queen should look like.

  8. It is generous of Queen Sofia to loan her 40-year-old dress to Letizia. It is a lovely dress which has stood the test of time. Letizia wears it beautifully, and I'm sure Queen Sofia did too. I love the muted colors and the lilac colored trim . Letizia's earrings are a match to the print of the dress, and her cream-colored shoes are very nice.

Considering that the outfit is 40yo, it looks great on her and she wears it well.

This dress does not fit with her aesthetic. Paired with those shoes it looks like what it is, dated, a throwback from the '70's. Here is a dress from her own closet which is quite similar and would suit the occasion.

The shoes could be replaced by any of those pretty CH undercuts in one of the colors on the dress but that probably would still not elevate the look.
According to the Spanish press the original beading on the pattern was removed and replaced. Adequate representation should also include the wearer being comfortable in her own skin RL, Please look deeper in your closet. Vintage as it may be it's not you.

Oh yes!! Valentino is there for nothing, obviously you have no idea about fashion or Who he is or his work.

  16. Nice idea to wear Queen Sofia’s dress but not overly keen on the look. I actually thought it was a t shirt and skirt and, although the shoes elevate it from being too casual, it seemed somewhat informal for the event.

Whilst the idea is commendable, the aesthetic result is less so. Looks like an old dress one would grab when in a rush on the way to the market. Not something befitting an official lunch with a head of state. Maybe next attempt to take advantage of the former queen’s closest will be more suitable for the occasion.

    What a wonderfull dress!
Here you see that when something is good it never becomes “ old fashioned”, it stays good!
For L it is a totally different style, and I like it very much, very feminine.
It seems to make her softer, more natural ( less “ robot”: comment a few days ago).
Please go on in this way Letizia!

The moral of the story: Robots dressed in Sofia's things look feminine.
QL is graceful and feminine every day of the week, even in a sack.
