On September 16, Queen Maxima opened the national supercomputer Snellius at SURF Science Park in Amsterdam. The new supercomputer offers scientific research in the Netherlands almost ten times more computing power than its predecessor. During the opening meeting, the possibilities of supercomputing for scientific research and for tackling societal challenges were discussed.
The supercomputer was designed to be suitable for all fields of science, from astronomy to social sciences and from climate change research to medical sciences. Snellius, like its predecessor Cartesius, will be located in the Amsterdam Data Tower at the Amsterdam Science Park.

Oddly dressed, third photo with hair a mess says it all, I give up, when will this woman get it right? She has potential, she has the resources, she has the smile and personality all at her disposal. jj
ردحذفWell let's put it mildly, Máxima is not the queen with a good fashion feeling/taste. A culotte, please put it in the cupboard forever. This diadem in the hair made me think of something for a first communion in the catholic church for a 6 year old. It's such a pity that this intelligent and friendly Queen with her golden smile has not better advisors around her.

Shaking my head in disbelief at these photos. On seeing the first photo, I assumed she was at a wedding or some kind of religious service. The hairband, while a good idea to keep her hair back of her face, is just totally out of place. This week started so well with the lovely green dress, the striped effort was okay and now this. Tomorrow, I don't know what might happen......

ردحذفI don't know how a queen, a royal person, can show up to a business sort of event, involving technology and computers, in such an outfit. Also, last time she visited cows on a meadow with a new, exaggerated wide-brimmed hat and a greeen plissee silk dress. Totally over the top. Might be good for taking tea with fellow queens in some palace but not for an agricultural themed visit. Same goes for this technology occasion as mentioned above. What on earth is she thinking? Thumbs down, sorry.
ردحذفThe outfit is not a winner but the Queen pulls it off. What I don’t understand is the brown blush and shiny makeup that looks like it was applied two days prior. Why would someone recommend brown blush for the Queen’s skin tone? It ages her and makes her look tired.

حذفFollowing inquiries from Dutch newspaper NOS, the Government Information Service (or, in Dutch, abbreviated in RVD) confirmed that the Queen had suffered a fracture as a consequence of an accident.
In the press release, it is not made clear what caused the accident nor how long Her Majesty will have to wear the protection. However, it specified that Queen Máxima had been complaining about feeling pain for a while and that the fracture diagnosis was made subsequent to medical treatment for said pain.
Maybe pain meds are responsible for the outfit. It's just a thought. ~d
