Queen Mathilde visited the renovated MoMu Fashion Museum (ModeMuseum) in Antwerp. The visit began with a round table meeting on fashion and the challenges of the sector during and after the corona crisis. The Queen was given a guided tour of one of the museum's permanent exhibitions, which highlights avantgarde Belgian and international fashion by means of a changing presentation of silhouettes and archive material from the collection.

Finally, the Queen visited the study collection in the renovated library and attended a practical lesson on fashion, clothing and textiles. The museum was established on September 21, 2002. MoMu's collection policy focuses on the work of Belgian designers and alumni of the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

Hmm, what else can be said about this outfit other than it's an attempt to fit in with the museum's style: modern. It is not clear to me in the photos whether it is a dress or a skirt with a blouse, but that does not matter. As far as I'm concerned, the pattern of the fabric in this dress(?) version doesn't suit the queen and the seam is poorly stitched. I think the evening dress would look much better on QM. Her hair is beautifully done up.

I agree with Sara. Queen Mathilde looks great in this Van Nooten outfit. He already made beautiful clothes for QM in the past. The clutch and the shoes match very well with the orange in the skirt (dress?). MJ

Fantastic that the Queen wears a Van Nooten design!
The colours suit her very well, as does the black top.
Dries van Nooten is in my opinion one of the best designers.

Let's say it's original... Is it a dress, is it a skirt? Apparently a loose dress. Not my cup of tea but kind of appropriate for this visit. The lower part would work nice as a skirt, I think.

Update on my comment: also wondering about the shoes, can we get an update on those? Are those orange wedge heels??

  8. I love the hown but the shortened length looks botched and some bright earrings would have been my choice. The Queen's hair looks great!

    Very beautiful exhibit.

Like the hair, earrings, bag and shoes. Don't care for the skirt, which I don't think would suit anyone. The color and pattern mix are not aesthetically pleasing to my eye and make Mathilde, with even her long legs, look far stockier than she is. S.M.

    1. Agree entirely. It's certainly colourful and fun but flattering? No. The Queen looks great with her hair up like this.

Perfectly stated. Hair and makeup (even with mask) is great.
      Outfit not so flattering.

  10. Yes I would prefer the longer version as well but as a whole I like it.

  11. I'd go for the full length, no sleeves version on the model as I see it going well for an evening event.
    Otherwise, it's a no-no from me.
Like her hairdo (from what we can see of it).

What a fantastic fashion statement from Mathilde. Dries van Noten one of the best European designers, in fabrics, colours and sustainability.

LOVE her hair, not thinking the outfit is something to wear again. It fit the occasion, but what a waste of money in dress, shoes, bag. jj

The bag and the shoes are not new. I saw her with these several years ago. Can't remember on what occasion. MJ

I think she looks great - sleek and modern. This hairstyle makes her look 10 years younger.

Oh no, why this dress , Mathilde?
This pattern is rather odd and not flattering on her IMO.

I think it's great and a lovely gesture to the theme of the visit. My only criticism is that the hem looks a little uneven. Her hair is fabulous.

I visited this museum several years ago and really enjoyed it. Antwerp is lovely.
