lovely dress. But you can hardly see the hosts on the dinner table photo, and why is the table so crowded with minimal social distancing!

It is always a good idea reading before writing...google new corona rules in Danmark...(Agatha)

    2. Denmark has a very high vaccination rate (I believe it's more than 80 %) and has thrown many Covid-19 rules overboard in the last couple of weeks. No masks required, no social distancing (and in this particular case I think all dinner guests are fully vaccinated). No need for an overly spacious seating plan here. Fashionwise - it's not a terribly glamourous event, a little more like a fine business dinner, so Mary is dressed quite appropriately in this sleek silver-grey number that seems a little on the boring side, but given the nature of the event it's fitting the occasion.

Although I love the colour of this dress it looks to me like an old fashioned nightgown

You must have wonderful nighties! (Agatha)

My thought exactly - a glorified night gown, complete with the elasticated cuffs, the shiny fabric (albeit silk) and the (non)colour which washes her out. The hair style is not helping either, seems like an afterthought. All in all an underwhelming look, IMO, despite the ravishing jewellery. We know she can do way much better than this.

I think you would find this is a very expensive couture gown. The pattern on the silk ,is an art in itself. (Tabby)

Princess Mary looks stunning ; silk is such a beautiful fabric ;good to see Prince Frederick, somebody needed to straighten his bow tie, what is it with tuxedo’s,they seem to be the order of the day; there are so many fashionable suits out there at the minute.

  4. An exquisite gown and earrings that mimic the keyhole in the dress. Beautiful color and material. Mary is always on point.

  6. Pitty, this time Mary wasn't very lucky by finding something really glomorous and elegant for important event.

  7. How does C.P. Frederik always manage to look so scruffy. I always think he comes rushing into the palace just before they have to leave from rough housing with the kids and dog outside, jumps into the shower rushes out, forgets to brush his hair and leaves his valet to try and tie his bow tie while running to the open car door where a serene and perfect Mary just clucks hurry up you are making us nearly late as usual. I swear he grew a beard just so that he only has to deal with it once a week. It is actually quite endearing.
Just look at him. His bow tie is skew, his shirt pulling across his chest and his hair awry next a beautifully brushed and polished Mary.

I agree. But I want to add that his eyes look like he's either in pain or lack of sleep. He looked fatigued.

    2. I see it as an elegant "low-key" dress for a conservative event.
      Good choice by Princess Mary.
AND good to see Prince Frederik at last wearing a suit that more or less fits him. His bow tie needs straightening.
He's never going to look tidy and dapper like Prince Daniel.

    3. @deadeggs Frederic and Daniel are different men; Daniel missing the long years within a royal family, always chooses the safe way... However I think they are getting on very well together through common interest for sport.

CP Mary rocks this lovely dove grey silk column dress. So pretty.

I can’t help but admire the green glasses on the dinner table, gorg.

  10. CP Mary looks beautiful, but I love the look of the lady near the bottom right of the pic with the sleeveless slate blue dress. She looks gorgeous. I miss all the elegant dinner pics, glad we are starting to get some again!

Missing the back detail, I remember this dress having a very interesting back.
I like it, although I don’t think is WOW! column dresses aren’t easy to wear, but she definitely has the figure and posture to do so. I love the prince, he is cute beyond words.

Not a fan of this plain silver dress, does nothing for her figure, and looks quite dated. dani

  13. I loved this gown the first time CP Mary wore it--and I love it even more this time because of her hairstyle. She looks gorgeous--and this shimmery, grey-silver silk gown gown is so elegant. I love her choice of diamond earrings, adding a bit more sparkle. Perfect for a gala evening! CP Frederik is looking so handsome--and yes, his tie is askew. I think Mary has given up keeping his tie straight!
