On September 20, 2021, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Princess Anne, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and Princess Alexandra visited the 2021 RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London. The Chelsea flower show is held annually in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea. The Chelsea Flower Show returns with a one-off autumn event after the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) decided to postpone this year's show, which was due to take place in May, because of the pandemic.

Not a good dress for the countess (or anyone else) imo ; the sleeves look as if they're ripped. The whole is everything but elegant. The countess hairdo looks great on her. The PR looks as if she's on her way to the theater instead of a flower show. I do like the soft green on the princess of Kent, but both jacket as well as trousers are ill fitting. From what can be seen on the picture, PA looks nice.

Sophie: it might have worked with another type of sleeves. But these sleeves add nothing (literally). All other ladies look great, especially princess Alexandra.

  3. They all look a bit of a mess.

Maybe the British royals could use a break and figure out what's next after all the scandals.

Appalling that they carry on when their brother uses tactics on international that will destabilize all of them.

They all seem to need a few days outdoors and a tailor.

  4. Woohoo. What a lovely surprise to see so many of the royal family at the one event. My top choice is Princess Alexandra who looks fantastic. Love the colour of her outfit and the jewellery is perfect. Tied in second place are the Countess of Wessex and the Princess Royal--two very different outfits but both very smart. Sophie's hair looks great here again. Finally, good to see Princess Michael but, as at Flora Ogilvy's wedding, she's beginning to look rather frail

  5. The color of Sophie's dress really suits her and her hair is lovely. I am not a fan of the dress itself or of her jewelry. Still, she looks very pretty.

  6. I am not a fan of those sleeves on Sophie's dress. Way too gaping. The bodice of the dress is ok, but cut those arms off LOL. Her hair looks nice. I just love the sassiness of the Princess Royal. Prince Michael looks quite handsome. Princess Michael looks like she is wearing her clothes 2 sizes too big. The big winner is Princess Alexandra, love the color on her.

  7. My, how nice to see so many BRF members enjoying the Chelsea Flower Show! Princess Alexandra looks fabulous--what a pretty shade of pink and it looks lovely on HRH. Princess Anne looks elegant--the garden pattern on her coat is perfect for the event. Princess Michael seems frail--perhaps she is still recovering from her bout of COVID earlier in the year. Finally, Sophie. Her hair is wonderful and I like her jewelry. But, the dress--put it in a bag in the back of the closet. Other than the color it is not a good choice for usually beautifully attired Countess.

  8. The fashion winners, to me, are Prince Michael of Kent, and Prince Edward. Both look dashing. Princess Alexandra is the winner among the ladies. The Princess Royal looks thinner than usual. I like her coat dress with navy blue shoes, bag and gloves, and her gold and pearl jewelry is very nice. I'm not a fan of Sophie's dress but I love her necklace and earrings. I can't figure out the logic of her bag. It matches nothing. I agree that Princess Michael is beginning to look frail.

Sophie's outfit: dress/wintery, sleeves a mess - shoes: dont go with the dress
Jewelry; lovely, as is her smile and hairdo.

Princess Anne: nice outfit, but too formal for a garden show.

Princess Alexandra: lovely, just right for the occasion. jj

  10. Prince Edward would be fun to spend an afternoon with- fun and dishy.- looks great here, as does Sophie. Princess Anne, please please please do something with your hair. It looks quite wiry and unhealthy. Brillo pads comes to mind. Her outfit is amazingly beautiful, but it doesn't work on her. Especially not with black shoes.

    1. I was fortunate enough to meet Prince Edward when he came to my school for a D of E event. He was great speaking to the pupils and to all of the staff (including me!) who managed to wangle their way into the Assembly Hall to meet him. He seemed to be a really nice guy.

    2. He is my Least Favorite Royal. Creepy sellout, strange loyalties, odd. Their Stepford behavior makes me cringe

  11. Loved Princess Anne's outfit. Excellent except for the gloves. She looked less approachable and frankly old fashioned with gloves. She has a stunning figure. Like the shoes very much.

About Princess Anne : the hair, the gloves, the white stockings/panty ruin her beautiful coat. Sophie's outfit is not lovely especially with those shoes. I don't like the fabric of her dress. Her jewellery is beautiful. The older ladies members of the BRF are lovely and sweet.

  13. The white knit dress looks a lot better on the model than on Sophie. With the right size and fit, it can be an attractive dress, but on Sophie, both size and fit are off. I guess you need a really slender figure to look good in a knit dress. And I don´t like the arm slits in any case.
Anne´s outfit is too formal, and although it fits her well, it looks lifeless.
    Edward looks great.

  14. Was not the Chelsea Flower Show always Catherine's project? I hope to see photos of her!
