LOVE Princess Sophia's dress and colour. It flows beautifully on her.
Mrs. Budenbender also looks very nice. Queen Sylvia looks smart in her wool suit, like she always does. Not so fond of CP Victoria's sculptural hair-do. It's way too tight, but suits her hair decoration. Her dress is an ode to Autumn.

They all look nice and beautiful exept crown princess victoria. I like her dress on the model but she can't wear it.

    1. I think the dress is alright for Victoria, but it´s not styled well. This is not the type of dress to wear for a formal event. The elegant hairdo (fine in itself) and the superhigh stilettos look all wrong with this dress; instead, the dress would be perfect for a folklore festival or a line dance performance. If styled casually (flat shoes, open hair, tote bag), I would be perfect for a family gathering, a birthday do, an open-air concert or a nice picnic/garden party. I can see it work in a lot of settings, but not for business, and certainly not for a state visit.

For the same reason, I don´t like Mrs. Büdenbender´s dress either. It´s way too casual, it almost looks like a tennis dress.

Silvia is the only one who got it right this time. Formal, chic and polished. I´m not a fan of the bow, but that´s just my taste.

Sofia - she looks good, but the dress is too long for my liking. It borders on evening territory.

    2. I tend to agree with Malva; a bit shorter would make it better. I find her hairstyling a bit disappointing, too tight as usual. It was surely possible to do better with this headpiece.

The best dressed is Princess Sofia. The aubergine/purple colour is very beautiful for her and the dress fits her well. Good length, good style. I don't like CP Victoria's dress. The dress is more of the same she wears since a long time now. The colour and the flowers makes her older than she is. MJ

  5. Victoria - so lovely!
I don't understand why Frau Büdenbender wears so ugly shoes. There are enough shoes that are comfy and at least a little bit chic.

    1. Coralie, she suffered a metatarsal fracture recently, so we all can understand that she opted for very comfortable shoes, like sneakers.

Zij heeft deze zomer haat been of enkel gebroken.
Waarschijnlijk zitten deze sneakers het meest comfortabel.

    3. I am no supporter of flat shoes, which are rarely flattering but I think several people have said that Frau Steimmeier is recovering form broken bones (a broken bone?) in her feet. This being the case, we have to allow her to wear what is comfortable!! I feel sorry for her as she must know that her outfits will not look their best in these circumstances. at their best

    4. Oh yes - a broken bone is a reason for this kind of shoes. I hope she will recover soon.

Wow, CP Victoria!!! I love her dress, the high heels and most of all, the hairstyle!!

And Queen Silvia, always so beautiful and well dressed.

Lovely to see Daniel and Carl-Philip so close and great together!

  7. Agree that Princess Sofia is the best dressed today, but love the colour and youthful style of Frau Steinmeier's dress. Queen Silvia's Twedy suit is classic and elegant as one would expect but looks a bit wintry compared to the others. I love the colours in CP Victoria's dress but even with her splendid shoes, it's too long again and I feel it has a matronly vibe. Love the dark green headpiece.

Queen Sylvia looks very stylish. Not sure what Elke was thinking a jog around the park; there are lots of low pumps that are supportive of foot surgery. Princess Victoria I like the hair accessory she has. Presidents are a strange piece of work; that is why Australia is not a Republic.(Tara)

Here in Europe we have not noticed that President Steinmeier is "strange"
      - and even most other presidents over here are "normal". How many presidents do you know?

I also live in a constitutional monarchy & am in favour of keeping it, but that doesn't mean that all Presidents are strange. I actually feel for First Ladies having to choose outfits to go with those of royals, I think it can be difficult.
There are First Ladies like Carla Bruni or Samantha Cameron who are natural fashionistas, but most of them are not. And the difference to royals is that you're only First Lady for a couple of years. So you are kind of thrown in, whereas royal ladies - both born and married in - have a couple of years to develop their style and can then basically keep to that for the rest of their lives.

  9. Queen Silvia wins hands down, what a beautiful suit. She looks so elegant and all class. Love the bow of her blouse, her clutch and shoes are the perfect choice. Frau Steimmeier looks terrific, I love the colour of her outfit. Well done to her for choosing appropriate footwear to compensate for her injury.

CP Victoria's hair, hair piece, dress all looked beautiful.
Am glad the German lady felt comfortable to wear low/flat shoes. She might have issues with balance. annie

to attend the same official lunch !

  12. Ik vind de haarmode van Victoria saai. Er moet toch meer variatie mogelijk zijn met haar haardos.

Silvia looks elegant in her classical suit (I try to ignore that bow).
Sofia's burgundy colored dress looks okay bu not my favorite by her.
Victora's dress looks ugly. I dislike its messy print and style. Okay for some folk festival but not for an official dinner to be worn with high heels and severe updo. She already owns so many similar unflattering floral dresses. Why add another one? Think of the environment and consume less!
