Each year, the recipient receives her award and is honored at SWEA’s annual summer event in Sweden, the Sverigemiddag (Sweden dinner). The Swedish Woman of the Year also receives a memento. The award has been presented to twenty-seven women since 1989, each of them serving as “ambassadors” for Sweden in a number of ways. Love this dress and Victoria looks great in it.
I'm glad that she didn't go for the full length version though it would look nice too for an evening occasion. True to form, Victoria has selected a high neck; I would have liked to see the dress with a lower scoop similar to what she wore to the ESIL conference.

    1. I agree, both about the length and the neckline. I would have taken away even more fabric at both ends, ditching another tier in the skirt and opening up the neckline further, maybe a waterfall or boat neck. The fabric is beautiful in any case. I wonder if the seam across the hips was structurally necessary.

@Vanessa: I wondered about that hip seam as well. Even though it adds shape to the dress and accentuates the figure wearing it, I think it could have been omitted in the shorter version of the dress. I can understand it in the longer version, because of the tiers. The fabric is indeed very beautiful. I wonder what it is. Some combination of silk probably.

    1. Absolutely. Lovely dress, perfect for the occasion. So nice that she was recognised for this award and a bonus that she received it from her aunt.

She earned it! Great personality, so dedicated to her country! Well done Victoria and your family!

Quel dommage.

  7. Actually, I think the high neck collar is what makes this dress more unique, not crazy about the ruffle, I would've liked a simple bias silhouette , nevertheless the fabric and color are lovely. She looks radiant!!

What a lovely dress. The sun shines through it and together with Victoria's smile it could not be better. One point of criticism. Although her hair is wel done and very practical, I am longing sometimes for another informal style. Her face always looks so strict with this updo hair.

This is indeed a lovely dress on CP Victoria. At least much better than the flower dresses she wore lately. The only thing I would change is the neckline. Her updo is not nice. Why can't she wear her hair like other royal ladies do ? Loose and softer. Princess Christina's top is a bit too large. I know it is fashion but she is a little woman and then it is always a risk to wear something made of too much fabric. MJ

I am so tired of the puffed sleeves and high ruffled neck. Too much fabric although the fabric itself is beautiful. There are other ways of draping sheer fabric than puffing it up. This style of dress is all dress with thin legs and arms and a small head sticking out.

To be honest, I like Victoria and her commitment a lot, but this is not a good dress: the collar is grandma Mozes, the rest and fabric: ok, but her hairdo is not very charming either: loose hair would have brightened up the dress, made it less stiff.

  11. Dear dear didn't anyone actually notice Princess Christina and how elegant she looks. My only quibble the hem of her top riding up at the front. If the designer had taken into account that that is what happens unless your shape is a garden rake and adjusted the design accordingly it would have been perfect.

Beautiful dress, her hair style looks a tad severe. It might have looked better if she had a softer style to go with the dress.

    Both very nicely dressed.

A bit odd though to recieve this price and to get it handed to you from your own aunt.
