King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited the Wallonia region hit hard by the July floods. In the city hall of Verviers, the King and Queen received information about the current situation and the current and future actions aiming to support the local population in the presence of the Minister of the Interior Annelies Verlinden, and Minister-President of Wallonia Region Elio Di Rupo. The King and Queen then met with representatives of the Red Cross and some aid associations in Ensival.

More than 210 people died due to the floods in western Europe in July, with most of the casualties in Belgium and Germany. The provinces of Namur and Walloon Brabant located in the southeast of the capital Brussels were among the worst hit, after thunderstorms and heavy rain reached the country.

Mathilde is looking good ( in her suit) to the havoc. Appropriate for the occasion.
Love the frills make it more fun (which the circumstances are certainly not).
    Great they express their sympathy.

The suit is nice but a longer jacket would be perfect.

I agree with Anon 14:49. The jacket needs to be longer. It would help Mathilde look more proportional. Because she has such long legs, she needs to create the allusion that her torso is longer, which can be accomplished by elongating the jacket. I'm happy to see that she did not fall victim to the wide belt the model is wearing in the ad, and opted for the very thin belt she is wearing. ~d

  5. I love this on Mathilde. I am not usually one for shorter jackets, but this is a great length. The fringe at the bottom is a fun addition. The belt is good for waist definition, and I like that she went with a skinny one. Her hair looks great too.

  6. Don't like this outfit at all. The jacket is too short and is made shorter by the belt This plus the pattern makes the Queen look very much broader than she is. Appropriate for the occasion, yes; flattering outfit, no.

Agree with you, Annie M; the arm length of the jacket isn't good imo either
