The Spanish Royal Family went for a walk in Palma de Mallorca to say goodbye to the people of Majorca island on the last day of their vacation on the island which lasted for more than a week. After the night walk, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia had dinner at the restaurant 'El txoco de Martin', owned by Martín Berasategui. Every year, the Spanish Royal Family spend some days of the summer on the Spanish island.

If I had to pick a fav (even though I don't really care much for any of the outfits) it would be the dungarees. Age appropriate and very suitable to Sofia's tall, youthful figure. Letizia's outfit is a bit odd even for a kaftan, but looks much better belted at the waist as she has done.

ردحذفThe King looks great again. Like Leonor's outfit but not a fan of Sofia's dungarees which look like the outfits that clowns wear. The Queen's outfit is one of her rare fails, for me. It's billed as a kaftan, which will be why it has the dressing gown vibe, I expect!! The espadrilles look good on all the ladies.

I just wanted to say that she was gorgeous. Obviously my native language is not French and I do not know what the translator will have put, but of course I have not said anything insulting. We wear them flat and in vibrant colours when we are little girls and with more or less high wedges and platforms and in more subdued colours that go with anything from our teenage years until we become grandmothers. No other footwear speaks to us more clearly of tradition, summer and holidays than our espadrilles, alpargatas or espardenyes.

She seems to prefer pants, rompers and jumpsuits while Leonor is more of a dress girl. Leonor seems to prefer floral prints and feminine details. Her style is pretty and preppy.

I love wearing espadrilles in the summer, and I live nowhere near Spain. They’re just so fresh and casual. Everyone here looks great here. Clearly it’s hot, and they’ve all dressed appropriately in comfortable, easy clothing. (V.M.)

ردحذفIt seems the blue and red printed bags used by the Queen in 2020 are part of a campaign to help a specific charity and nothing to do with the official craft of Mallorcan artisans. In what is now typical of interactions with her, the artisan society rained complaints. This year the same thing happened but this time a note and a bag was sent to her. The public relations of this group is disaster. How much easier would it have been to send the bag then wait for the positive press like the designers do instead of acting entitled. Smh.

The comments are so predictable! Well, we know that in certain ladies’ view, the queen can never ever wear anything but great outfits. That goes without saying (or reading 🙂). Others really dislike espadrilles. In an official event, I don’t find them appropriate. But the Spanish royals are on vacation, so let’s not judge their outfits as if they were on duty. They look fine (and I do recognize the regional differences- it’s very possible it’s even more appropriate for Spanish ladies).
