The crowd that attended the funeral at Vaduz Cathedral included the Princess' entire family, and members of European Royal Families, and Queen Sofía of Spain, who was also present in 1967 for Prince Hans-Adam and Princess Marie’s wedding in the same church, Princess Caroline of Hannover and Prince Guillaume (brother of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg) and Princess Sibilla, among others.

The attendance was limited due to the pandemic. To prevent large gatherings, the Princely Family decided to stream the funeral service online. Princess Marie’s final resting place will be the Princely Crypt in St Florin, where many other Princely Family members have been laid to rest already.

  1. There isn't much to say about the attire of the guests but the arrangement presentation of the Princesses's portrait looks remarkably inelegant and cheap to my eye.

    1. You need to watch the two hours funeral mass then. Nothing cheap about it at all. The photo does not give credit to what was arranged in reality.

  2. Thanks to our moderator for the photos of the guests at the ceremony.
Very few photos have been available on the net.
On a fashion note, not a false note anywhere.
May Princess Marie rest in peace.

    1. I think your observation is very astute, deadeggs. If there is one thing most of the royal families in Europe know how to do, and do well, it is to dress appropriately and elegantly for funerals. This applies to the gentlemen, too, some of whom we see here paying tribute to Princess Marie in morning suits. No higher honor. Having mentioned in a previous post that Princess Marie was known for her signature double strand of pearls, it is lovely to see that particular set of pearls in the photograph chosen for her memorial. (I think I spy another set of double strand pearls at the neckline of Queen Ann-Marie of Greece in the next post, celebrating her 75th birthday!-- I hope fashionistas of all ages are taking copious notes...)
