As patron of Copenhagen Cooking, Danish Princess Marie attended Harvest Festival 2021 (Høstfestival) at Frederiksberg Allé in Frederiksberg, on August 20, 2021. Since 2015, Frederiksberg Allé has hosted more than 1500 locals and tourists at long table dinners, which has now become a tradition in Frederiksberg.

Harvest Festival is a new initiative developed in connection with the popular Høstfest. Harvest Festival is held from 20 to 29 August, 2021 as part of Copenhagen Cooking, with the aim of engaging far more local businesses and organizations from Frederiksberg in a joint harvest theme - "From farm to table"

    1. Not keen on the idea of the long black boots. Although I can't see clearly either, I thought it was a jacket worn over black top and slim legged trousers. It's a great colour for Princess Marie.

    2. Tulipe33 and Annie M, you are definitely noticing something! This is indeed an excellent color on Princess Marie. It is considered one of the recommended colors in her “color palette”. (One need only read the comments below to see how many have noted how lovely it is on her.) Although it may be surprising to see her wearing long black boots in August, the venue and ‘venue obligations’ often dictate royal fashion during scheduled events. Sometimes it seems rather odd to see a royal (female) wearing pants, for instance, or in this case, boots or leggings; however, the fact that she is kneeling down to be briefed on a food display may be our clue as to why the boots were chosen for the required walk-about during this royal visit. Other readers are to be commended for picking up on the effect of the scarf: Here we see that even ladies in the royal families of Europe can be caught up in a fashion trend that does not suit them. Princess Marie is approximately 5’3” tall, and this particularly long scarf is overwhelming her diminutive frame. Unfortunately, it also obscures most of her outfit, notably the lovely tailoring details of her jacket. One final element that is missing, which would have completed the look, is a coordinating earring. Adding a little color at the jawline (to match or coordinate with her jacket or boots) would have pulled the eye upward and tied the entire ensemble together. Hopefully, she will wear this suit again and we will appreciate it more as she explores her other options.

I completely agree on the colour – it suits her very well. I'll also say that much like Annie M I did not pick up on the fact that those were boots. I figured it was opaque pantyhose and patent heels... maybe hard to make out in the pictures, maybe I'm not familiar enough with Princess Marie's style. I don't know what to say about the scarf. It's a beautiful piece which works with the colour scheme of the dress suit. However the way it is worn is a bit unfortunate maybe? It feels like it is draped over the front in a way that makes it feel like she is "hiding something" in the sense if this were a gossipmongering publication and ten years earlier we'd have headlines of pregnancy rumours on our hands. Tulip33 mentioned her hair – I love it either way, yes the roots stand out a bit but I love the hightlights for summer. Overall, very lovely! –– S.

  2. Très dévouée aux causes qu'elle affectionne. Habillée sobrement mais toujours de façon élégante. Cette couleur vibrante lui va très bien. Lovely lady with a big heart.

  4. This is a very lovely colour - and how it matches with the flowers she was given!

  5. She is such a lovely lady, seems so caring and involved in her causes. This look isn't my favorite of hers, but I do like the color on her. It's not a bad look, there's just something that is throwing it off for me. Maybe it is the boots, maybe the scarf.

I don't think princess marie cares so much about her causes, because she has done nothing during the past nine months. Only one video call. If she is supposed to be so great, she could have done more of them.

Fashion-wise the jacket is ill fitting and the color is rather ugly,

    2. Wow, ok. Well, I said she seems caring, I don't know her personally, so maybe she isn't. Maybe she doesn't do a ton of them but when she does, she always seem to enjoy being there. Sorry you seem to be in such a bad mood. :(

  6. Pretty in Magenta, but I don't understand that big scarf thing .
The hair does have some reddish / mahogany tone, I have no problem with that.
In pic 4 where Marie is crouching it looks like she is wearing a pant suit, but it's
actually a skirt (or dress?) The whole outfit seems a bit strange for summer, stockings and shoes/ or boots in black. Not one of Maries best looks imo.

From what I can see I rather like this. The simplicity of Marie's style is elegant.

@Muriel J, I realize that royals do have an idea of what the venue will be and most of the times dress accordingly, but I completely disagree about wearing boots because she is kneeling on this particular photo,I don’t think for a minute that it was on the script, it seems like it just happened, otherwise pants would have been the obvious choice. I love boots in any shape or form, but on this instance they simply clash with the fabric of the outfit, color is great on her and the scarf could have been a little smaller.
