On June 15, 2021, Queen Maxima of The Netherlands opened a 3D-printed steel pedestrian bridge on the Oudezijds Achterburgwal in Amsterdam. The innovative steel pedestrian bridge has smart sensors and can measure traffic flows, crowds, air quality and temperature, among other things. The bridge designed by Joris Laarman Lab and MX3D has a futuristic style, with shiny steel waves of 12.2 meters long, 6.3 meters wide and has a weight of 6,000 kilos. After the opening with the help of a robot, Queen Máxima spoke with the designers, builders, municipality authorities and local residents.

  1. This must be her favourite hat and I agree, it suits her very well.

  3. I actually like the dress, especially the color. It has a few interesting details, but not over the top. I'd prefer the rest of the look clean, but at least the hat contains the hair. Not a fan of those leather gloves, especially in summer.

  4. If the hat fits, the bridge was successfully designed for thousands

  5. ok nice original dress, a bit too long; not sure the hat fits with the dress.

Agreed! Nice dress, very well chosen jewellery, hat, bag, make-up, shoes. It would be a really nice outfit for King's Day too.

I like this dress and the whole outfit.
The colour is nice and she kept the belt which blends with the dress (unlike the one she chose for today's family photo shoot). I also like the asymmetrical sleeve detail, and as for the hat, the wide round curve of the brim compliments and continues this style design. Only thing I'd omit are the leather gloves. Nice to see a purse that is not a clutch though a clutch might have looked better in this instance.
    Well done Max.

Couldn't put it better. I think she looks very summery. Yes, the hat is big but at least she's consistent and wears what she likes.

As a woman, I try to never criticize another woman, but I do criticize hats and such...please burn that hat! Ann B

Yes, burn it! It ruins the whole look, which is too bad because the dress is quite nice.

  9. For once, a Nathan dress I actually like! The color is gorgeous and the cut very interesting. Not the usual stiff monstrosities that are Natan’s signature designs.
I have no problem with the hat. I love hats and I think QM carries these types of oversized hats with aplomb!

MJ

I wonder why they made the choice to put this bridge in the red light district? Her dress is interesting, the shoes too formal for the straw hat she seems to wear with everything. jj

  13. Maybe she should wear a hat of this magnitude less often so you could appreciate it more when she does wear it!

This was exactly my comment a few weeks ago. She likes these large hats and honestly looks very good in them, but wearing them just occasionally (and wearing other hats, or none in the mean time) allows us to appreciate them more when we see them.

  14. Let's see, Queen Máxima is or simulates it nice, even to the point of exaggeration, elegant NO, sometime by chance she gets it right, sometime, she will never be in the top ten of elegance, she doesn't have the qualities for it, she's nice. that's her stamp, no other.

  15. Beautiful dress it feets her very well....also beautiful the hat but probably a little bit "too much" for the event...
