Queen Elizabeth and Princess Anne visited The Edinburgh Climate Change Institute

Queen Elizabeth and The Princess Royal visited The Edinburgh Climate Change Institute in Edinburgh

On July 1, 2021, Queen Elizabeth II and The Princess Royal visited The Edinburgh Climate Change Institute in Edinburgh, as part of the Queen's traditional trip to Scotland for Holyrood Week. There, they received information about the institute's work to combat climate change. The Princess Royal has been Chancellor of The University of Edinburgh since 2011, a role previously held by The Duke of Edinburgh, who became Chancellor in 1953. The Queen has been in Scotland in the past few days for her traditional visit, but as her journey came to an end, she headed to Windsor to attend the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

  1. HM looks wonderful in her turquoise ensemble--she seems to have really enjoyed her stay in Scotland. But, those smiles at the Windsor Horse Show--she's back in her favorite place, relaxed and enjoying some personal time. Love how she's scaled back her look--her hat and brooch have been left behind--for her personal time at the horse show.

Full marks to both ladies, especially Anne. I like the lighter coloured gloves (as opposed to dark which she wore the last time), since we know that she always wears gloves when interacting with the public.

  4. HM the Queen in those sunglasses is everything. I love seeing her smiling so much lately, enjoying her engagements. The bright turquoise is great on her. I like Anne's textured jacket as well.

Lovely to see mother and daughter.
The Queen lovely as always, and Anne in modest colours so the Queen can be the focus of attention.

  6. Edinburgh in the morning, Windsor in the afternoon! Even allowing for the fact that the Queen has every comfort when she travels, that is quite something at any age. What incredible stamina she has! Lovely turquoise outfit and Princess Anne is again smart but blends into the background allowing the focus to be on the Queen. Understand that she was talking knowledgeably about climate change and the challenges it brings with an acceptance that things must change. At 95! She’s just wonderful! 🥰

  7. The Queen looks very good again. She is on a great roll!
Just wondering... I've noticed I sometimes keep looking behind or next to her to expect prince Philip. That's how it has been for (almost) an entire life time...
    Am I the only one?

    1. Prince Philip had not accompanied her Majesty to any formal events since he retired in August 2017. It is more likely that she is checking that whoever is with her is keeping up!!

Lovely indeed morgen and daughter. However the queen always has these perfectly tailor-made coats. Now the coat does not fit as it should.
