  1. The Queen looks exceptionally beautiful! The dress style and color suits her well and pairs royally with the jewelry. Her hair is lovely and look becoming with the bare-shoulder dress. Maxima always nails state visits where she reigns supreme. The king looks great except he needs a shave.

  2. AT LAST perfect and that when I am no fan of ruffles. The dress fits like a glove, is not too tight , the bust darts end where they should and she looks slim and shapely not like the too tight like the Natan sausage skin examples she and Queen Mathilde are so fond of.

  3. Queen Maxima is on a roll! Love the gown with the aquamarine jewels. King Willem looks very handsome too. The president and his wife look very nice too. I admire Ms. Budenbender's refusal to be sidelined by her injury.

  9. Another fabulous outfit. (I am living in constant trepidation that Queen Maxima will wear something totally bizarre and overshadow all the great stuff we have seen over the last two days!!) The colour is superb and while I would prefer the skirt without the flounces, it’s still a beautiful dress which looks wonderful on the Queen. Hair is perfect, jewellery is magnificent and, even with the scruffy beard, the King looks suitably smart beside her.

Her hair and makeup looks good here and the jewelry is wonderful.
I do think that these "waterfall" type dresses are just not attractive under any circumstances.

The necklace is stunning.. Maxima's hair and make-up is great. I love the color of her dress. My favorite thing about the look is her lack of gloves.

  12. This dress is just awful. The tiers are unbecoming and the lace looks cheap. The baby blue color does nothing to improve the overall appearance.
The only thing truly beautiful here are the hair and makeup and the jewelry is of course to die for!

    1. I totally disagree with your comments about this gown. I think the Valentino gown is beautifully crafted and the shade of blue is exquisite on Maxima. I love the draping of the tiers.I do agree that the jewelry is sublime.

I do not care for the style of this dress either. It just reminds me of a grandmother's fancy tablecloth. This appearance proves that she is capable of styling her hair (or having someone else do it) in a nice way where it looks healthy and good....bravo to that.

She can do it!!! What an exquisite whimsical dress, her figure is splendid. Love everything about this outfit… perhaps some ugly platform shoes peeking… I don’t even want to know.
    She looks magnificent.

I noticed the shoes as well. They must have missed the donation bin. Otherwise she looks lovely. She can indeed look not only appropriate but the right clothes can show her body to its best advantage. She looks almost half the size here as she does in some of the ill-fitting and over-embellished frocks she is so fond of. ~d

Maxima looks fabulous. So many things could have gone wrong with that dress but it is amazing - beautiful form and silhouette and the ruffles only add instead of detract from the look. The work of a master. Love her hair and jewellery too.
The German presidents wife also looks very good, both today and yesterday.
    Brava to both ladies.

Delectable from head to toe! The dress and necklace have some some delicate details which I think suit Max very well (as differentiated from her favoring big and bold in clothes and jewelry, which can also suit her). She looks almost as tall as WA, and presents a magnificent figure. Hard to believe she recently celebrated her 50th birthday. S.M.

This type of hairdoing is so totally not to my taste: I think it is “ cheap” and “Hollywood “.
Think of the babyblue dress with a nonchalant bun: it would improve immediately.

This is hardly "Hollywood" hair. It is Maxima's hair with a few beach waves, which is quite common, if not overdone in some places. It looks especially impressive on her because she usually lets her hair hang straight. I am not sure what you mean by "cheap". I think she looks lovely. ~d

  21. Wait what - no mask mandate? I am sick of the double standards here. In Berlin, you still have to wear masks when shopping or in public transport, after all.
Maxima's dress is exquisite, as is to be expected. Lovely.

    1. Don't worry no double standard. She is wearing a mask draped on her arm and presumably put it on before walking inside.

Looking at just the dress, bag, tiers of ruffles and lace neck line, one might thing, it's a prom dress. The color is inocent enough. You get to the jewelry, makeup and hair, and you know this is no prom. Can't see shoes, so dont know if they are clunkers, or cinderella shoes... Half of her looks immature, the top half looks modern, sleep, well done....

Her date, the King: his pants are too long, hair slightly messy, but very shiny shoes. Hope they had fun at the prom, didn't stay out too late, and had protection with them, aka covid protection.. .jj

This is pure pleasure to behold - looks like a fairy queen (no not of the sweet pink sort). Hairstyle is also exactly fitting this kind of shoulderless dress, the beautifully made waves hide or interrupt nothing of the dress. (-Ann.)

Her shoes which can hardly be noticed here are gorgeous platform silver pump sandals by Aquazzurra and her clutch is by Dior.
Her sophisticated soft dust blue evening dress is by Valentino as it has already been said above.
I love her make-up and wavy romantic hairstyle.
    Superb.

  28. If you look at photos N° 1, 5, 9 and 10, one could be excused from thinking that the flowers in the background are part of Q. Maxima's dress. This was the impression I got when I first saw photo N° 1
I thought that she has really gone over the top this time.
I thought the designer (Valentino ?) had done a costume style gown from ideas of the Carnival of Rio.
Hope that Natan doesn't get to see the photos and get inspiration from them.

  31. Beautiful jewels, very flattering colour on Maxima but the dress is horrible, too fussy. Had the dress been altered to a simple lace sheath dress with organza (or whatever the material is) wrap or a tulle, organza flared skirt would have looked so much more elegant.

    1. Hmm, Mary, Letizia and Kate often alter gowns, as did Diana. The gowns were often just altered, not totally remade, although Diana and Mary have done this.

Personally I have liked most of Mary's alterations with the exception of one, a magnificent jewelled toned velvet gown Mary first wore when pregnant with Princess Isabella.

Mary also altered a midnight velvet gown (which was lovely to begin with) and the final result was even more stunning.

Letizia altered on beautiful grey ball gown three times. I liked the first and second incarnations, but felt the third overkill.
