  1. For me Anne absolutely wins this. Her coat dress is a lovely colour and a great fit. I love the collar and the hat. It much the best outfit of hers in a long time. It is personal choice but I dont like the Erdem or the Suzannah for this occasion.

Ha, Day 3. In a nutshell, Sophie for the win in my book. That deep jade colour with the metallic palms looks great on her and the ensemble fits her well and shows off her curves. Nice hat and shoes too.
Anne...The style of the outfit is nice in itself and she looks good, but a stiff coat dress seems too hot for a summer outdoor event. May be it's just me. The hat seems to have been pulled from the back of someone's 50s or 60s closet.
I like Zara's hat more than her dress though I will say that if anyone does justice to that Erdem dress, it's her. Fun and sporty and appropriate for this event.
Do we know who Peter Phillips companion is? I haven't been keeping track.

    1. The lady in question is Formula One TV presenter Natalie Pinkham. She seems to be friends with Zara Tindall, with whom she went to the races yesterday. Before any speculation starts: she's married to TV producer Owain Walbyoff, they have two children together. I very much like her hat, btw.

@DSC: Thank you for the explanation. I didn't know who she was so was just wondering if Peter was dating publicly again; however now that you've explained who she is, I'm not implying anything untoward. Thanks again.

    2. Most likely on Saturday, as it's rumoured that HM The Queen will also make an appearance then.

  4. Zara wins for me here. I like her dress and accessories, nice combinations. Although I do think if the dress would've been a few inches longer, it would've been more flattering.
Anne and Sophie are a bit underwhelming. Anne her usual self, bright colour and nice hat.
Sophie's dress has a great colour but the cut makes her look bigger than she is, almost bulky. In her case, the dress should've been a bit shorter. Nicely accessorised though and the glittering palm print is great for Ascot.

Princess Ann wears a beautiful silk dress coat!
Sophie’s dress is a bit to much a nurses dress.

Anne has my favourite outfit today. Total surprise. Versatile hat (as one would expect from her) that works particularly well with the cut of her jacket.

Sophie seems a little overdone for me, and although she recycled hats, the rest of her outfits so far weren’t quite in line with the organizers’ direction to rewear something old. Too bad.

Zara looks good, I can’t say I love this dress on her.

Not visible in these photos, but I guess it’s clear now why Autumn Phillips divorced Peter. Rumoured relationship with Nathalie Pinkham confirmed. Not so clear why she decided to stay in England and expose her children to another lady touching their dad so publicly. Anyway….

    1. Natalie Pinkham is married and has two children herself. She's very good friends with Zara Tindall, they showed up together at Ascot. No need to get overly excited and get unjustified rumours started.

@CH, what a ridiculous and speculative comment, you don’t know anything about their private lives, secondly it’s not for you to judge, and thirdly it’s none of your business. And the sentence about another woman touching their dad? Well that is what normally happens when people divorce and start new relationships, they touch each other, you make it sound so ughhh….and by the way this Royal family, like many others is no stranger to second marriages..

  7. I love Sophie's look, very 1950's prim and proper. The fit is great, and I like the detail on the skirt. Love Princess Anne's bright yellow coat (especially with that collar turned up). All she is missing is those sunglasses she had on the other day :)
I'm not as much a fan of Zara's dress, I think it's the folds that are making the fit look off.

I really like P. Anne’s bright yellow coat, but the hat looks a bit dated. I’d love to see her in a really spectacular hat for a change. She definitely has the presence for it. As far as the other ladies are concerned, I think D. Sophie’s dress is certainly an eye-catching print which seems to fit her well. Zara’s dress looks fine, a couple of inches longer would be an improvement. (V.M.)

  10. I agree Sophie's dress is eye-catching but I cannot prevent myself from thinking "too much material" in the dress; we have read that many times earlier.
Anne, I am not a fan, this bright yellow is too much for her, not in accordance with her overall style. It is totally unusual for her and should then have made a special effort for the rest : hairstyling, make up... Zara's dress gets a medium mark as far as I am concerned.

  12. Princess Anne for the win! Very elegant coat dress (not being mean but do wonder how long she's had this outfit). Zara is a close second--just wish her accessories had been a bit brighter pink--but do like that she chose to highlight the pink instead of the more obvious blues in her dress. Finally, Sophie--I really want to like her dress but just can't muster up much love. The color is beautiful and the fit is excellent--my problem is that its a bit off for me. Shirtwaists can be very Ascot--the Duchess of Gloucestshire has proven that--but this one feels a bit too informal or something. She looks wonderful but... Honorable mentions to Peter Phillips--looks very dashing in his morning suit--and Andrew Parker Bowles--sly one matching his tie to Anne's ensemble (they are only the best of friends, nothing intended here).

The best dressed with a lovely hat is in my opinion Autumn Kelly, ex of Ann's son Peter Philips. Ann better dressed than normal. I think she wears the same gloves as her mother. Countess of Wessex and Sarah a big NO.

Autumn Kelly is not there and neither is Sarah (Duchess of York?) so not clear what you mean.

I'm sure AnnE has her own pair of gloves and isn't wearing her mother's.

Princess Anne keeps going further back in her closet. Yesterday, the green shiny dress with long sleeves and gloves came from the 80's. The yellow number today, including hat and white gloves came from the early 60's? I don't think its appropriate, or maybe she doesnt care about style and is using her old clothes as satirical choices.

Did not like the green dress Sophie chose, it gave her a good shape, but it's a 50's style of dress, too casual of a collar, just did not like it. The hat was too fussy for the casual style of the 'upper part' of the dress.

Zara, loved the shoes and hat, both in style and great color. jj

    1. Much though I admire Countess Sophie this dress is another disaster in my view. Colour and pattern are fine but it’s too long and there’s too much material in the skirt making it really frumpy. I like Zara’s outfit but the dress would benefit from being a little longer. As for Princess Anne, I like the summery yellow coat and this year there was a specific request for Ascot for ladies to wear recycled outfits rather than buying new. Just what Princess Anne wants to hear 😀

I do not like that Erdam dress, and those hideous clunky shoes on the model make it look even worse.

Also, I don't know why Sophie seems to love those long, voluminous skirts. She has good legs -- I think she'd look great in a shorter, slimmer skirt.
