The Countess of Wessex gave an exclusive interview to BBC Radio 5 Live on Wednesday morning. In the interview with Naga Munchetty, The Countess of Wessex discussed the ongoing prevalence of rape and sexual violence as weapons of war in conflict around the world, and the importance of raising awareness and supporting survivors. The episode comes ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, on Saturday 19th June, 2021.

Speaking to Radio 5 Live, The Countess also said the pandemic had "slightly skewed things", making it hard to spend as much time with the Queen as she would like. Asked how she felt about her elevated profile, the Countess said: "There is increased interest in us as a family but, if it raises more awareness of the issues I care about, then that can only be a good thing."

  1. Pretty summer dress from Sophie for this interview paired with a simple ponytail! The photo of her looking teary-eyed was the part of the interview in which she described the on-going grief from the loss of Prince Philip--she described it as "He left a giant-sized hole in our lives." Such a wonderful lady and great asset for the BRF.

  3. Même si ce n'est que pour cette interview, Sophie est pimpante dans cette petite robe à l'imprimé graphique ; je pense lui avoir déjà vue - La toilette de Naga Munchetty a toute ma préférence avec des motifs tricolores !

  4. What a sensitive and very painful subject to discuss. But very good to raise awareness, I admire that.
I love how you can see genuine emotion and concern in Sophie's eyes. I like her a lot!

Does anyone know if you can watch this interview online?

Hi, yes, I found a part of the interview on YouTube, when Sophie reflects about the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.
It touched me, she is such a genuine, ckassy, kind, warm- hearted and down to earth lady.
      Have a nice evening.

    4. Hello P.,
Of course you can ask that! Sadly I can't find it anywhere. Maybe it was only broadcasted on television?
I hope my reaction isn't too late. Wish you a great day as well!
      Greetings!

Yes, the interview must have been broadcasted only on television.
      Thank you.
      Have a nice Sunday!

The interview was good. The dress shapeless and did not like the print. She also needs garments that 'uplift' rather than ones that sag as it drags down her body shape. jj

This is such an interesting dress. I bet it looks amazing when you walk, and the contrasting print of the pleats shows. I think the silhouette suits D. Sophie very well. (V.M.)

They're both bare armed so are on equal footing.
And even if one of them wasn't, it would still be perfectly OK. This isn't a State event, or any event of any importance - it's an ordinary, local interview. Guess you're not too clued up on your protocol to know the difference.

Anon 9:13..so you are clued up to set up the protocol in a country you even do not know and probably have never visited. What an arrogance please!! A ordinary interviu? Don't make me laugh!! So they can appear in a bikini on the beach!! Come on!!

This is called cognitive dissonance in a polite way, having a lot of cheeck , less polite.

Obviously in Spain people do not dress as in Korea, Asian people tend to cover themselves, but they were in Spain. (They both bare arms??), so you should have citicised the Korean lady, as she was in Spain, when Letizia goes to an Muslim Country she wears a veil.
Your arguments are not valid, but only wise people are able of recognise a mistake.
Guess you have no idea about protocol, when in Rome. !!!

  9. Nice Dress Sophie Wessex has on, nothing to criticize. What's with the recurring comments about better under garments? Is that not body shaming?
