Queen Elizabeth has received a commemorative rose to mark what would have been the 100th birthday of Prince Philip. The deep pink commemorative rose, bred by the Royal Horticultural Society—of which The Queen is President—was presented to The Queen in a ceremony last week. The rose was planted by Windsor's head gardener Philip Carter in the mixed rose border of the East Terrace Garden at Windsor Castle.
The Duke of Edinburgh Rose is available to buy online or in a Gardeners Pack. For every Duke of Edinburgh Rose sold, a donation will be made to The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Living Legacy Fund. The Fund will give a million more young people, from all circumstances and backgrounds, the opportunity to achieve a DofE Award.
What a lovely way to remember Prince Philip. The Queen looks lovely in this summery print dress.

Unfortunately that was my thought too, Ana. She seems to be smaller than ever and without the tailored coat and dress outfits she usually wears really looks like a little old lady. Long to reign over us.
DeleteGetting shorter in old age is a reality for all of us, so yes she looks like a little old lady. Comfort can come from thinking how few people with similar age can still be as active as she.
DeleteSame thoughts here about how frail she looks. Reminds me very much of my mom in her later years (and like the queen, she stayed active too). I'm just grateful we still have her! I'd love to be able to sit and chat with her about everything she's seen in her lifetime. Not about being royal but about all the things of the world she's gotten to be a witness to over 95 years!
