On May 7, 2021, The Duchess of Cambridge visited The Royal London Hospital and the National Portrait Gallery's Archive. The Duchess visited the Royal London Hospital in London to learn how Barts Health NHS Trust's Vital Arts organisation commissions art for the Royal London and the trust's other hospitals to improve the patient and staff experience. The Duchess then visited the National Portrait Gallery's Archive. The Duchess wore a red wool crepe coat from Eponine’s AW/2018 collection.

Love the red coat but hate the bright blue lining! DIQ

A photo that I saw earlier this morning on another site showed the blue lining while Kate was walking and the hem of the coat flapped open.

I love how we get to see something new from her every day.

  5. A nice combination: The bright red and 'muted' beige. Like this contrast a lot!

Agreed! It's an energetic colour combo, not seen often, but striking nonetheless.

  6. At first I wasn't sure about the caramel-colored skirt, pumps and bag, but, because the coat is more orange than red, I think the combination works. The coat is tailored perfectly for her lean torso. Her hair, especially in the fifth and sixth photos, is gorgeous. The highlights are just right.

As beautiful as her hair is, I personally like it far better in a slightly shorter form. This long, open hair is too much "holiday on the pony farm" for me, it doesn't really fit her grown-up appearance. Frieda

  9. What a fabulous coat. Love it. Although the pairing with brown is less usual than navy or black, it looks great. A joy to see her as usual.

    1. I think it is the same that Queen Letizia has and that she has used several times. I don't understand why Kate advertises a Spanish brand, but she will know

For the same reason that Queen Letizia "advertises" a German brand when she wears Hugo Boss.

Edith, that is correct it is the Zara skirt. The one Letizia wears is a Massimo Dutti.

What a fabulous coat! I love this entire look with the shades of camel against the tomato red. (V.M.)

    1. I agree, this is a fantastic look. The red with the camel is perfect. I love how the skirt just peeks out every now and then. The accessories are so luxurious. She looks beautiful.

  13. That coat is too long and the fabric looks cheap. Not your best "look"

    1. Re your earlier comment... the duchess does not ‘advertise’ the Spanish brand, she just chooses to wear it. As other Royals from every European country wear clothes by British designers, Italian designers, all sorts. Life would be a bit dull if we all had to stick to local products!

I think the length is fine for someone of the Duchess's height - and it is longer than the skirt hemline. As for the fabric it looks fine to me - I can't see anything that makes it look particularly cheaper than other fabrics.

For me the downside of this look is the Duchess's hair - I just find it too much here. I would prefer it back from her face.

Why is the word look in inverted commas?

    4. I agree partly with Suzanna; I find the coat a bit too long as well, but the fabric looks ok.

Love the red coat, though not a fan of tan per say, it goes ok with the outfit overall. Love he long natural hair, its beautiful, as is her smile we cannot see.
