On May 19, 2021, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia attended the opening of the 41st edition of the International Tourism Fair-FITUR 2021, which takes place from May 19 to 23, 2021 at the Feria de Madrid. The fair is the first annual event for professionals of world tourism and the leading fair for incoming and outgoing tourism markets in Latin America. Queen Letizia wore a new denim cotton jumpsuit by Inés Domecq.

Très belle allure dans cette combinaison mais je trouve quand-même que ses volants sont trop imposants pour ses épaules ; je pense que moins larges, ils auraient apporté plus d'élégance tout en conservant le reste, bien-sur - Superbe Felipe dans ce costume gris-clair, une cravate à très petits motifs sur fond blanc-cassé et les chaussures Bordeaux rutilantes !

ردحذفA rare miss for me, QL can do much better than this. I know she doesn't shy away from contemporary modern even edgy styles - and she does have the figure for it - but this particular piece looks again like sth more suited for her daughters. I hope she passes it on to Sofia and we don't get to see a repeat of this by the Queen. Just my 2 cents...

ردحذف@Carme, the term espadrilles in English, refers to any shoe that has a canvas covering the foot, with a flexible sole generally constructed or cover by rope or “esparto” . The Queen has many pairs of espadrilles and her favorite brand , Castañer is sold in the world as espadrilles.

ردحذفI agree with the majority opinion. This jumpsuit does no favors for Queen Letizia. It does showcase her toned arms, which I envy. I understand that the engagement was for the benefit of the tourism market. Perhaps she decided to dress as a tourist. On the other hand, King Felipe was dressed perfectly.

This looks like something I would have worn in high school. As a matter of fact, I did have a jumpsuit with a similar cut back in the day. The belt made this look like separates, not a jumpsuit. Even if the accessories had been any other color than black, I don't think it would have helped. As much as I like Letizia's style, I can't like this. Is it because I have already worn this in the early 80s? I can't be sure. I just think it misses the mark this time. Felipe, however, looks perfect. I like his lighter suit. ~d

ردحذفFor me the Queen in general can do no wrong. Today's jumpsuit according to the local press is a piece from a collection by a new designer. This however is a miss. Like someone said earlier it would suit young Sofia better.

Sorry, not a fan of this at all. The whole look is too informal--it's like something you might wear at the seaside on holiday. I thought the trousers were white jeans until I saw Jumpsuit mentioned. The top with the huge frill does nothing for the Queen and reminds me of the space outfits worn in sci fi programmes of the 80s and 90s. Agree that the King looks especially handsome today.

Pues a mí me encanta el mono. Letizia siempre aprovecha las inauguraciones de FITUR o ARCO para lucir vanguardia y promover firmas jóvenes de moda española. Es blanco, limpio, veraniego y alegre y ella está guapísima. Su enamorado marido también la verá muy bien.

I disagree with the majority of commenters here - I think the frilly jumpsuit looks fantastic on Letizia just the way she styled it with black accessories! It's fun, it's summery, it's young - who says you have to be a teenager to wear "young" clothing? I also very much like the ensemble the lady with the green jacket is wearing, and I can equally see Letizia wearing it. S.M.

Dear G, my vision is just fine, and so is my sensibility. Not the first time I hear the term, but I still find it distasteful. Basic principle is that we all know vulgar language, and yet we strive to find better ways to express ourselves, that is way we tell children that although many words are heard they shouldn’t be repeated. Being rude doesn’t make you forceful or right, vulgar expressions are just that.

ردحذفI do like this outfit a lot, however I think it wrinkles in a very unflattering way around the groin area, perhaps it should have had more length so it doesn’t ride up, perhaps is an optical effect in the pictures.
