Queen Silvia bought this year's first majblomman (mayflower) digitally from Elin Eisele who is 13 years old. A sure sign of spring since 1907 is the sale of majblomman, which provides financial support to children living in financial vulnerability. According to that tradition, the Queen buys the first majblomman of the year from children who come to the Royal Palace, but this year the event took place completely digitally.

The acitivities of the organization is financed by thousands of children that sell “majblomman” – a small flower pin – each year in April.

  1. Beautiful Queen Silvia never outshines her patronage, so natural and caring!

  4. What a touching way to do it digitally, with the pin and card (which are both beautiful). Agree with the comment above about how she highlights the cause, not outshines it.

  5. Queen Silvia looks lovely in the white sweater, and it's the perfect backdrop for the floral pin. I hope the program realizes a great profit to benefit the children.

I hope that Silvia's damage to the arm is not worse than what has been said in the media. It's now 2 months since it occurred. - In the second picture you catch a glimpse of her face from the 70's with a young smile. I wish her well. - Ellie

Never outshining the occasion, it’s always been about the causes she supports, not about her. Could serve as a model to other royals.
