On April 4, 2021, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark attended Easter service at Aarhus Cathedral (Cathedral of St. Clemens) in Jutland. Due to the current restrictions, the Easter service lasted only 30 minutes. In addition, there was no communion or common hymn singing. Instead, it was the Aarhus Cathedral Choir (Aarhus Domkirkes Kantori) that performed Easter hymns.

  1. Très jolie veste que la reine apprécie beaucoup ; je crois qu'elle possède également un manteau du même style - Ravissant son petit collier avec des pendants qui ressemblent à des petits œufs de Pâques !!

    1. Because she likes it? I for one think that fur is sustainable. You keep a fur coat for at least ten years, if not twenty. And it is natural, in contrast to all this fleece-things made if polysomething. And it is elegant!

I think because this is a very old coat.
Should it be thrown away? Then the poor animals would have died once again for nothing. New fur coats, however, are not tolerable. Frieda

I still have a fur coat of my mother, at least 50 years old , and still good and very wearable, so that is what I do!

  4. Great to see her and she’s looking good. Mim, I expect the answer is to keep warm. Also, by the look of the garment, I suspect it dates back to a time when no one had any qualms about fur coats.

  5. Mim: The Queen owns this "fur" since decades. What should she do? Throwing it into the bin now in older age? It comes from other decades, traditions and helping humans through cold winter times. And not to forget to menion it: she is a Queen. Happy Easter!

Nope, fur is not elegant it actually the opposite. I have never seen an elegant woman wearing fur. Tacky and ostentatious not to mention the cruelty of the fur industry. Furs were OK when people hunted animals for sustenance and warmth.

    1. Many furs look elegant. It depends on how the person wears the fur. I have seen many stunning fur coats.

Mim, I agree with the others. This fur is very old, as you can see by looking at it. I don't know that any of the royals are buying new furs. I see old furs as I do leather. It already exists. What should we do with it. Destroy it, or use it? We don't need more fur. Faux fur will do in my opinion. Leather will continue to be a byproduct whether people want to use it or not. Posting links from PETA is the last thing to do to get any sympathy from me. I am an animal lover, make no mistake, and would not wear real fur. I can't stand PETA. Their tactics are controversial and offensive, designed to shock and scare. ~d

  10. The Queen of Denmark has every right to wear her OLD furs until they fall apart. In fact her coat might even have been worn by her elegant mother, Queen Ingrid. The sleeves and hems seem to have been lengthened, which gives the jacket a longer life. “Disgusting habit”, Mim? I suggest you air your acid comments in suitable publications where you will certainly find ardent fans.
