Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako attended the 15th Midori Academic Award ceremony (Reiwa), held at the Parliamentary Museum in Tokyo. The prize is awarded by the Prime Minister to individuals in Japan with remarkable academic achievements in the fields related to “green” science, such as researches on plants, forests, greening, horticulture, ecology, landscaping or natural conservation, and development of related technology.
Again, the Emperor is wearing a tie to complement the colour of the Empress's outfit.

She has a lovely face and there are so many lovely hats, even in a conservative style (if that is the reasoning behind the Imperial Household's choices for her) that would suit and look so flattering to Empress Masako. She is a lovely lady. We can only hope and keep our fingers crossed.

Beautiful tailoring as usual, and a fresh springlike colour. I’d love to see her experiment a bit more with her hats. Perhaps that will come in time. (V.M)
