Are you saying that we didn't appreciate her role as a Duchess before?
      Funny question.

      It's not question. It's thesis.
I always appreciate Catherine but somebody not. Someone calling her Waity Katy. It was very rude.
And now we are seeing who is Duchess and who is... I don't know what it call.

Always like a camel coat. She looks nice here. Her hair is getting very long too.

  4. Duchess Kate's coat is smashing. And of course her slim figure gives it style and elegance.
For a high street fashion brand at a reasonable price, it's a winner.
What I like also about the Massimo Dutti company is that most of their manufacturing is done in Spain and Portugal.
I believe, they don't use cheap Asian labour.
On a non fashion note, their interest in the ambulance worker's challenges is to be commended.

Hi Deadeggs thanks for the tip that the coat comes from a high street brand. I have seen the brand online . Coming from Australia I am pretty sure we don't have it here. I love the coat & colour. I love how Kate wears high street clothes it's affordable. I have noticed how many more princesses have started to follow the trend of wearing high street fashion. From what I can tell Kate & her sister Pippa ate probably amongst the first to start this. Soon in the southern hemisphere we will be going into winter & I can't wait to search for a similar type of coat. Mary I

  6. Superbe manteau camel au double boutonnage mais qui mériterait d'être un tout petit peu plus court pour sa silhouette élancée ; toujours une aussi somptueuse chevelure !

These coats will never go out of style. It's timeless elegance. I own such a coat in gray and chocolate brown. These coats make a good silhouette and emphasize a nice figure. (They are much more elegant than so-called oversize coats, which I don't like).
This outfit is great, but I would suggest improving it by adding a contrasting color - such as a red sweater or a red handbag.
Kate looks very dignified and kind, despite the recent drama in the family. And let's not forget that she left 3 small children at home. I know she has a babysitter, but I know from personal experience that leaving a small child at home is very stressful, even if you know that the child is being well cared for by a babysitter or grandmother.

Stephanie, I fully agree with your fashion statement . She looks great.
However, are you comparing Kate's life as a working mother with the rest of us mortals? I have nothing against the royals and their lifestyle, but your statement is just pure fantasy, she has a live in nanny, which is natural given their status, not to mention private secretaries, and all kinds of staff. To say that she may be stressed because she left her children home for a few hours, is just a mockery.

    2. Sorry Sarie but I don't quite understand what your question has to do with the Duke and Duchess's visit to an ambulance centre in east London.
Did the Duchess of Sussex go there also ??????
Have you posted it on the wrong blog ???????

Perhaps Sari is making an indirect point: ever since "The Interview", there have hardly been any negative or even slightly negative comments towards Kate, AND a surplus of positive comments towards her. I have noticed that as well, and not only on this blog. Nothing about Kate has changed. She is still the same - for better or worse - as before. But sympathy can suddenly make everything seem rosy towards one party, and highlight latent negativity towards another.

I'm not sure why the comment by Sarie is even here. It has nothing to do with this post. It is bad enough we have to endure the snide comments that are slipped in randomly, no matter who we are discussing. ~d

Nothing has changed of my view on her. Let the woman live her life in America in peace. There should be no competition between the two women as they are different individuals on different paths. Liking Kate doesn’t equal a dislike to Meghan and vise versa.

As a follower since back when the blog was called “my royals” more than 10 years ago, I’m happy the blog is back to looking at the fashion. It was getting uncomfortable with all the fanaticism going on ( people got hurt because they idolize others).

    6. Sari, Can you please clarify your question? What on earth does the question have to do with the Duchess's fashion with regards to her visit today, Ambulance station. If indeed your referring to a specific topic, why dont you just say so

Great head to toe camel look. The mix of wool, a knit and suede add interest to a monochromatic look. Great blow out.

I will be in the minority here. I don't think this is the smashing success others see. I much prefer the way she has styled the coat with black, next to the Massimo Dutti pictures. I think there is too much camel, and the only other color we really see is in her hair. I agree with Stephanie that another color is needed, even if it was only in her bag and shoes. Since camel is not the best color for Kate, a color she wears well near her face would have improved this for me. As always, the fit is immaculate, but the coat is too long for me. I think the length worked better with the boots, not as well with shoes. ~d

I agree, as that was my first thought too - another colour would look great to break up the colour block monotony of the camel.
Camel is a colour that looks striking when contrasted with another. A coloured or patterned silk scarf near the neck or shoulders would have added some interest. It's a nice coat though and she wears it well.

@Stephanie, if you are interested in any way about the lifestyle of these Royals, I highly recommend - Royal Servants, by journalist Clive Goodman and - Serving the Royals: Inside the firm. Although I am sure that some details may be embellished, you can get a pretty good idea of how these people live, pretty interesting... Spoil Alert, they have nothing in common with us :-)

Thanks for the tip. I'm really interested mainly in fashion - classic fashion. At the same time, I welcome the opportunity to practice in English. In addition to teaching, I also deal with international projects - Erasmus, Duke of Edinburgh Award - DofE (and on that occasion I also met Prince Edward and Sophie - very nice and well-informed people). I am also interested in the protocol from a professional point of view. I learned a lot from blogs about fashion or from "fashion police" pages in magazines. I and our students want to represent our country (Slovakia) and school well.

Catherine looks gorgous. Love her camel colored coat. Her hair are beautifully styled and suddenly look so long.
During the pandemic these two have been such a great couple to watch. They seem to settle into their royal role more and more.

Any problems with others' education and working achievements?
Stephanie is talking about fashion too or should one restrain their comment only to Catherine's coat?
      Btw, well done, Stephanie!

@ V, not a problem with education or lack thereof of the participants of this blog, however this is not a thread about Stephanie, somebody recommended a source of information and she responded with a pedantic comment, I could care less about her achievements, not interested at all about her life. I read this blog as a source of entertainment and a little fashion perusing. I am aware that some people love to let us know how very superior they are (mostly on their own minds) , and I just don’t care.

Dear V, just giving my opinion exactly like you are. Step 1: reading comments and stumbling into Stephanie’s. Step 2: answering her, not you by the way. Step 3 : Expressing my opinion about my lack of interest about her personal life. Step 4: not telling her that she shouldn’t post her accomplishments, after all she is entitled to write as she pleases.
    Best Regards to you 2

Sorry to disappoint, but most of Massimo Dutti’s clothes are in fact made in Asian countries in factories that are treating workers terribly. They (and their parent company Zara) were one of major culprits in that horrific factory collapse in Bangladesh a few years back.

I feel the camel actually drains Kate a bit – it's tasteful and classic, but all too tonal and bit dull. I also think her coat is too long. For the poster who was concerned that Kate might be stressed at leaving her children at home, our schools are open again in the UK, so George and Charlotte will be at school during the day until 3.30pm.
