The dark eye liner and nude lips reminds of kate in her early day as duchess. still think the tv interview was to raise profile in usa for their brand and buy people sympathy. Come across as whiny millionaires. That's one thing I don't understand about overprivileged people...every thing is dramatized, a struggle and affects their mental health.
Given their grandfather still sick in the hospital it is just not very considerate to run this show. jen

Ok - we all know the black eyeliner was Princess Di's signature look but it's overdone now. All the royal girls would look better with less of it. While loving Armani, the colour of this dress and the heels are all wrong for the setting. I actually feel for the couple - most people have great empathy for all Harry has been through but he should get a new therapist - walking in the steps of his mother with these tell-all interviews, 'poor privileged me' stories and running away while chasing notoriety are what killed his mother. A better example would be Countess Sophie who quietly weathered the storms of the English press through scandal to become a respected pillar of service for her country. There was an alternate, safer, less notorious path - he should have chosen to heal in private. We all would have got bored with Megan after a while and the press would have moved on. Then the focus would have only been on their service - now it will forever be on his estrangement from his people.

Faiza , agree with you. If it was me I'll just quietly do works and grant no interviews or whatsoever. Use that quiet time to heal and grow privately. But you see, the whole hollyweird celeb mentality is they can't stand to suffer alone. Everyone must know about it. Oh well, to each their own .jen.

    2. I think the dress in itself is beautiful, very elegant, flow-y without being made of too flow-y material. But she comes across like a widow, I'd have preferred something in a lighter colour and more spring-like. Still, I think she's very much trying to remind one of Diana in the Bashir interview and trying to look tragic.

  5. The dress somehow comes across as much too gloomy in this fresh, green and blooming environment.
For exclusive shopping or a cool evening event, I would love it. But then, like the model above, with flat sandals.
In addition, Meghan manages to completely cover her incredibly beautiful legs with this black cloth.
You only see her much too high heels, which in turn leaves the impression that from a feminist point of view she lives in the post-war period.
But maybe she perceives this time as post-war, then I hope for peace for all four.

Also, Meghan has many pretty attributes but her legs aren’t precisely the best.
And those talking about fuller lips as to intimate that she is having cosmetic procedures...wow! it just happens to many women during pregnancy, although to be fair, I don’t see any significant difference.

We don't know what will be said in the interview. I'm hoping they'll say what they need to say and move on, for everyone's sake ! No-one can grow, if they insist on living in the past ! I also hope it won't be an insight into the privacy of other members of BRF, as they seem very keen on keeping their own privacy.
I do think, at sometime Harry will probably take up US citizenship, and the whole debate about their titles will also be resolved !
Fashion wise, as always Meghan knows how to put herself together and what she's comfortable wearing. Harry, however, might want to invest in a new pair of shoes ! You can't have your wife sat next to you in an Armani creation, and you're sat there with holes in your shoes !

@Nina: Pull out of an interview? You do realise that this interview is NOT LIVE, don't you? It has already been taped several weeks ago BEFORE Phillip was sent to hospital.
You also realize that the program is the property of a US television network and NOT H&M, don't you? The TV station can air the tape whenever they want to. Phillip is not their royal family and will not affect their broadcast schedule due to illness. (The Queen, William and Kate are also giving a televised interview on the same day while Phillip is in hospital..why are you not complaining about that? Oh yeah, I know why...)

It is obvious that you and countless others posting here are haters towards H&M. I don't know (or care) what they've personally done to all of you. You seem to know them personally better than I do. But your hateful, ignorant comments to blame them for, or to criticize every single thing they do is disgusting and tiresome.
I don't know why it's so hard for all of you to scroll past something you despise so much. Believe me H&M would have no problem completely ignoring you without hesitation if they ever came across you.

Harry, yes losing your mother is tragic and will never completely leave you. But, throughout your life you have had the support of your father, grandmother, grandfather, brother, later sister-in-law, your uncles and aunts on both sides, which is more than many people have. You have the money to pay for great therapy; the freedom to work or not work due to your family's wealth, which again, many people don't have. So while it is tragic and sad and no doubt psychologically difficult for you, do you really need to act as though nobody has ever suffered as much as you have? J.

Meghan seems to be at that uncomfortable stage of pregnancy where this type of roomy dress fits best. Clean lines with the contrasting motif to break up the basic black. Some of the screen shots chosen are not the best, but the color shows off her complexion. (Black is worn year round) The loose tendrils elongate her face. Her makeup is neither too much or too little. You can see her freckles. More than likely those shoes were only worn during the sit down part of the interview, and the wide angle shows that there is a outdoor rug in a brick or gravel pattern under the furniture. In the close up shot she seems quite serious. Part of Harry's charm is that he always looks a little disheveled. He seems to be enjoying his wife's home cooking a little too much. :) July

I can't understand this middle-aged couple ( about 40 years old) - why they are still complaining when they live such a privileged life. Harry Mountbatten constantly talked about the death of his mother, who died because she got into a car with her lover and a drunk driver. It is boring. My father died of a stroke after three months in a coma in the same year as Diana, leaving a widow with three teenagers. I remember how hard we had to worke - my mother and we the children to handle with life, to do university and achieve something. And we never complained, never. He's a spoiled boy who has always had privileges, but he wasn't number 1 in Britain, so he is complainig. I'm not sorry for him. PS: I haven't heard anything more ridiculous than his environmental challenges and calls to some (no one knows what) action.

@Daniela. Your story is specific to you. There is on one size fits all in recovering from tragedy. You are no better than the tabloids. Neither of these two has celebrated their 40th birthday so you begin from a place of untruth, completely discrediting yourself. Anyone can be an armchair therapist but if you have not lived in someone's shoes, your opinions are flawed or speculative at best. This young man grew up with parents who were miserable because they did not love each other. His world collapsed in a short space of time with the divorce, moving between parents and then the sudden death of his mother. It may be irrational to blame the press, but that is his opinion. If everyone is entitled to their opinion, then so is he.

The mantra of 'stiff upper lip' is not enough when it is necessary to cuddle up to someone an pour your heart out for whatever reason at age 12. No amount of riches compensates for this. There are wealthy people who committed suicide, meaning that privilege and comfort were not enough to stick it out.

He lived in an unhappy marriage. Why have his wife fall out of love with him because he is powerless to protect her from the leaks of their private life, daily tabloid stories, and the shackles imposed on them by the courtiers? No amount of duty and sacrifice will keep him warm at night. Neither will playing the jester and hanging around his brother's family. He has to find his own way. America has no royalty so he will not be 1 there either. There are other royals who live outside of their countries without this fanfare. 3,4, and 5 for Luxembourg live in Germany, and before then France.

@July Thank you for your rational voice in this sea of hatred. To make judgements on the way a person grieves is unconscionable. I could very easily make judgements about the people that claim to just move on after a significant death. The reason that I would never do that is that I don't know these people or the circumstances of their relationship or loss. We don't fully know Harry's either. We only think we do. We know what is reported, that is, unless it has been related to us by Harry himself. Grief is a very private thing. How many people have to grieve for the entire world to see, then endure the world's armchair psychologists rating that effort like an Olympic sport? If these judges used the brains they were born with, they would realize that the glimpses they get or hear about are only the tip of the iceberg. We aren't privy to their entire lives and shouldn't be. Every person, rich or poor, famous or royal or the guy next door, deserves privacy. You can't judge what you don't know. How a person grieves can't be judged at all. Grieving is unique to each person. Harry took it upon himself to get help, something that is out of the norm for a royal. He has come out in support of mental health awareness. Again, relating to his own experiences, he was able to start a dialogue unlike any other royal before him. There are a lot of assumptions about Harry now. Choosing to remember his mother, or choosing to have more control over the press in his life is not a sign of grieving. It is very healthy to remember his mother and keep her in his life. He can tell Archie about her just like William does with his children (not gossip, William has said this in interviews).

As I have said before, the comments here are just a small example of what no one should have to live with. This kind of grilling is usually reserved for criminals. Yes, there are mental health problems at play here, but the abnormal obsession with two strangers and the compulsion to fantasize about their motives are the problems. There could always be a kernel of truth in some of it. I honestly don't know. This has become hate for sport. The inability to treat others as you would want to be treated, or to think about how you would feel if a member of your family was being treated this way is truly frightening. For those that think they shouldn't be reported on this blog anymore, stop commenting. Your comments are your votes to keep them here. You should be able to figure out how this works. ~d

In my humble opinion they should not have done the interview, at least not at this time. Give it a few years, focus on the new life and family then sit down reflect upon it , where they were, where they went and what they accomplished.
Doing it now scream attention seeking, revenging and petulant. They just need to cool it and do great things and their actions speak for itself. But, I can see the mentality of everything must happen now.now.

  42. The irony in all of this is that Meghan and Harry want to control press access; thus, they chose to have an interview on their terms with Oprah which is their right. As others have stated, this interview was previously taped (who knows exactly how long ago) and depending on the agreement with the Sussexes, was edited and scheduled to be released in March by the network. Perhaps now due to Prince Philip’s ill health the Sussexes may (or may not - who knows?) prefer that the broadcasting of the interview be postponed.

However, since the network makes these decisions, they have lost control (unless they had a “we can cancel this if we change our minds” clause which is highly doubtful) of when the interview airs. You may try, but you cannot control the press. Gloria

It is perfectly possible to feel sorry for a person's loss and the pain involved - and think said person is a bit of a prat. It's called being an adult and not seeing everything as black and white.

Anon 19:17 Le relating a "funny" quote from a newspaper discussion after a diatribe of all that is wrong and terrible in the world right now was mean and hateful. Meghan was being interviewed about the trip. During the course of interview, she was asked how she was doing. The interview was not only about her, but came around to how she was doing. There had been a lot of negative press in the UK, and a new pregnancy. The takeaway from the interview was that one soundbite, not what was important about their visit. To present that quote, in that way, was unnecessary and spreading another of many untruths. ~d

Js, you are correct that this couple is privileged, but when have you heard them complain about their lives? Their only statements from their lips have been about the difficulty of dealing with the daily made up stories about them by the tabloids, and as you can see by this blog the nastiness of the people that devour these publications. I don’t much care about their decision, it does not affect me or anybody in the whole world, it’s only relevant to them and their families, and I don’t have any idea of what has transpired.
The press has found a gold mine, everything they publish is consumed, true or not, and people are just acting like if they were criminals, drunks, thieves ( don’t want to mention adulterous like dad and stepmom) . They simply walked away from a life style that they don’t want, people may disagree about how it has been executed, but my goodness it doesn’t deserve such hatred.

I sincerely hope that after this Oprah interview they can get on with their lives and do whatever it is that they want to do. They can’t be victims forever. I’m tired of gossipy news on royals, can they all get back to doing their jobs (those still in the firm and those who have decided to carve out their own paths). Since all palace notices said they are still beloved members of the family, then it is more like Henry and Meghan lost their jobs and now have gotten new ones. Good luck to them on their path, and hopefully the media leaves them alone.

As the elephant in the room, Covid 19 has revealed several things. Royals in general do not bring much to the table. It is the governments that are tasked with finding solutions to problems. Royals act as cheerleaders to 'raise the morale' of the people, something we should all be doing since it is our brothers and sisters who are on the front lines experiencing the disaster in real time. Meanwhile, the clock continues running on their daily expenses and displays of pomp, no matter how empty the public coffers are.
    That said...
The attitude of the palace since the announcement of this Oprah interview is beginning to make the Sussex claims deserve a second look. Instead of waiting to see what is said, because teasers seldom reveal as much detail as the viewer hopes, they have decided to fight fire with fire. For instance, Meghan wore earrings donated by an Arab prince who was allegedly involved in murder...who knew the list of their wedding gifts? the bully email was ...leaked? Now, people are lining up to say they were bullied, as if royals got their titles and possessions by being nice to others.
There is no reason why this intra family dispute should be splashed in the papers everyday. 'The crown always wins' may well be true, but at what price. There will be no winners in this. Girls with titles who understand this 'lifestyle' wanted no part of these two brothers so as not to be subjected to this type of scrutiny. The 'palace' forgets that there is a whole new generation of little children who will be in the same position in about 10-15 years, with families warning their children to stay away from that circus.
Leaving to make it on your own is always seen as positive, with the parents doing as much they can to help the young couple get started. This is just sad on all fronts. July

@July, I absolutely agree. I will never say that bullying in the work place should be ignored, but how convenient to resuscitate this issue and make it public just now.
The Palace response is the best strategy to let M&H know that they will resort to anything to disqualify this woman. They are going full Diana on her, remember when they called her a “loose cannon “ and started a campaign of leaks to the press, rumors and innuendo?
I am giving the Crown the benefit of the doubt, that at the end they will make a true statement about the worker’s complaints. It must be a great feeling to read that your family is going totally public about investigating your pregnant wife, taking into account that they never pronounce themselves about anything controversial. Hard to believe that all these years none of the staff has had any issues with their employers, but now Meghan must be put in her place. Also interesting is that they haven’t launched any investigations about Andrew’s “rumors” , or maybe they have , but didn’t let the people know about it......yep the public doesn’t care about that, he gets a Mulligan, after all he is a Royal and he is entitled to his peccadillos. I am just speculating here, but I can see why Harry walked away, if this is being done publicly, I can’t imagine how it would have been in private.

They have never complained about not having a privileged life, if that’s what they wanted they would’ve continued the lifestyle of the firm full of luxury, and privilege funded in great part with taxpayers money, but they didn’t , they didn’t even accepted a title for their child. Now for better or worse they are on their own, making their money any way they see fit, not robbing banks or braking the law. O.K. she’s not royal but that’s not her fault as royalty doesn’t exist in the USA.
In her biography it states that she’s 67 years old and has a net worth 2.5 billion US dollars. So something by Gucci or Dior should be a problem for her to have in her wardrobe.
From what I can see, she appears to be wearing a dusty pink pullover with a pleated skirt of a complimentary colour. There is a pinch of white showing from her blouse.
Of course she needs to have a low key presentation so as not to outshine her interviewée.
