  1. Quel véritable régal que ce petit blazer cintré aux couleurs très lumineuses ; avec ses petites lunettes, elle est superbe !

I don't like the jacket one bit, and I also think it's wrong for Mathilde. The jacket requires a more flamboyant and a bohemian person, and Mathilde's character and conduct are conventional if not subdued. - Ellie

    2. I adore the jacket. Good to see Queen Mathilde going for a bit of flamboyancy and bohemianism in her life.
Also it has some touches of the bright colours of Africa about it which fit in well with the theme of the video meeting.

  3. I love this jacket! I wonder whether she wears it with red pants.

Very interesting jacket but I think it begs for a long neck. Mathilde has marvellous long legs but a comparatively short upper body so this style somehow opposes her body build instead of flattering it.

Her neck may seem too short to you because of the flesh-toned top she is wearing under it. She should have worn a cami that wouldn't show, and worn the jacket as a top. The jacket's v neck would have elongated her neckline.

@Anon 10:29: I have seen that top. However, I think it is the jacket itself that is "choosy", very nice for some people (Charlene comes to mind) but simply does not work so well for others. We all have to dress in acceptance of our body realities and she does it excellently in most cases, not in this one. But we can agree to disagree, it's fine. (-Ann.)

She makes my day with this extraordinary flamboyant jacket!

  6. I like the jacket but not on Queen Mathilde. She looks like she is in a straight jacket. I wonder why so many of her clothes are just too tight for her around the shoulders and chest. Maybe her neck is just too short for this shape of jacket. She always looks so hunched up. All you see is jacket not her.

  7. Love bright colours but this is a bit too much for me! And while the earrings certainly tome in very cleverly, they seem too big and ion the second photo look as if they are catching on the jacket. Think Queen Mathilde is looking great though

I like the jacket in itself but it's too small for the Queen. The fitting around the shoulders is too tight.

What a wonderful jacket, colors are amazing, she looks great! The earrings not so much, too big, too much.

She looks beautiful in the colorful jacket, and her hair is lovely. I don't understand the comments about the shape of her body! We're all shaped differently, and it shouldn't keep anyone from wearing what they want.

As this is a blog about fashion, the comments about her body type are completely appropriate. One facet of fashion is dressing for the body you have. Not all styles are flattering on every body. Not all colors are flattering on every skin tone. Mathilde does a poor job of dressing for her body type. No matter how much you may love an article of clothing, if it does not look good on you, it is not to your advantage to wear it. The goal should be to camouflage any body shortcomings and highlight the body's best features. You can look thinner, better proportioned, and even healthier just by making the correct clothing choices.

  12. I think she looks fantastic in this. I can see why people are divided over it, but I love it on her. The color brightens her up, and her slightly brighter makeup looks great. Love the hairstyle.

Perhaps that colorful jacket would look better in a different setting. Otherwise, on the model against a white background it looks better, but it's too short. ~Laurel~

Love everything about this look. I bet her slightly longer hair swept back from her face, her fresh make-up, mod glasses, and the brightly colored, quirky patterned jacket all combine to give everyone on the other end of the video call a lift to their spirits. Well done, QM!
