Crown Princess Victoria took part in an online symposium on Antarctic

Crown Princess Victoria wore a Arlo Tie-Dye Top from Stella McCartney. Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources
On Tuesday 23 February, Crown Princess Victoria took part in an online symposium on the Antarctic ecosystem in a changing climate and Sweden's role as chair of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR). During the symposium, it was discussed, among other things, what is the basis for the Swedish presence in Antarctica and what the biggest challenges for sustainable management look like today.

The Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) was established by international convention in 1982 with the objective of conserving Antarctic marine life. The commission was established in response to increasing commercial interest in Antarctic krill resources, a keystone component of the Antarctic ecosystem and a history of over-exploitation of several other marine resources in the Southern Ocean.

  1. I think I would prefer the blouse worn outside of the trousers like the model.

  2. J'aime beaucoup le chemisier quand il est porté par le modèle. Victoria serait beaucoup plus flattée si elle l'enlevait de l'intérieur de son pantalon et surtout avec les cheveux coiffés par une queue de cheval !

Victoria's hair and make-up look great. Love the blouse but I prefer the model's styling. Earrings and broach are not nice but not the best choice for this blouse.

This is a great blouse. Probably one of the best she has worn in the past few years. It is trendy and has a nice fit, making her look modern and youthful. I like what I can see of her slacks in terms of color and cut. I like that they show her figure and don't think that they are too tight. I think that they just need to be adjusted, as though she had been sitting and was left a little rumpled. The blouse is designed to be worn untucked, and it would have looked much better styled that way. She still has trouble relaxing her style, but this tie dye is a good start. ~d

Great choice for the topic of the symposium. The colours and the pattern remind us of the cold waters and melting ice shelves of Antarctica.

This looks lovely on her, and such a nice change from the floral prints that she often wears. I don’t mind the styling here. I suppose tucking the blouse in does elongate the legs, and perhaps that was her objective. (V.M.)

Not my favorite shirt/blouse/top. It looks cheap. Victoria is splendid, beautiful, thoughtful and dedicated to her work.

    1. >>It looks cheap<<?? This blouse looks anything but cheap. It is 100% pure silk Crèpe de chine, perfectly cut and perfectly flowing material. Of course tie dyes are and always have been a matter of taste. Some people like it, many don't. But tie dyes are en vogue for a couple of years now and are still on trend in 2021.

I like this blouse very much on Victoria, it looks young and fresh and suits perfectly for the topic. Some commenters say, she should have worn the blouse outside. Well, it depends. Originally it was designed by Stella McCartney worn to be tucked in, because it came with matching tie dyed trousers.

Here you can see another example, how the blouse can be styled tucked in .

I think it can be worn both ways, in and out. I prefer it tucked in. The only slight nibble I have is with Victorias accessoires, the pearl earrings and the broche are too classic for that style. Something a little bit edgier would have been better.

Beth is correct that this blouse is not a cheap. Silk crepe, cheap? I do disagree that this blouse was designed to be worn tucked in. There would be no need for the excess length of the blouse. It has a tunic length. It is longer in the back, another design feature in a blouse that is worn untucked. I see that McCartney has shown the blouse worn both ways, which is nice for versatility. ~d

    1. Her role in this is ceremonial, I guess. Opening address, royal presence, bringing attention to the cause. I don´t think she has much to contribute scientifically, but given her dedication to her work and her usual diligent preparation, she is likely somewhat qualified to take part. And I guess it ties in with her role as UN representative of sustainable water management (or whatever her exact title is).
I don´t necessarily agree with the whole UN agenda, especially when it comes to climate, but water management is indeed a crutial topic that needs addressing. And lastly, if top-profile international organisations like the UN is willing to listen to a teenager for "advice", why shouldn´t this commission listen to a crown princess? Anyone is an "expert" these days...
As for fashion, I like her look.
