The King and Queen of Sweden wished everyone a happy fourth Sunday of Advent

On Sunday, December 20, the fourth Sunday of Advent, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia sent an Advent greeting from Drottningholm Castle. The King and Queen's video greeting was recorded in the Stone Hall in the royal couple's private apartment at Drottningholm Palace.

The little Advent candlestick on the table was made by Crown Princess Victoria when she was a child. The little elves are also made by Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine at a young age. The poem that the Queen reads is Margareta Melin's "Adventsbön" (Advent prayer).

  1. Lovely. The Queen's gold bow blouse gives a festive touch and looking at her here with her immaculately styled hair, I am wondering again about those who would prefer to see her go grey. I think she looks really good and don't see her current hair colour as being in any way too harsh for her skin tone. Repeating what I said last week but using the whole family to light the Advent candles has just been such a great idea.

  2. This is just beautiful.
Elegant, spiritual and very heart warming. I feel the spirit of Christmas. My very best wishes to them, and to their entire, lovely, family.

  4. Queen Silvia's looks very pretty in the tweed jacket and gold blouse, and the king is his usual handsome but stoic self. They must tire of having to pose for the camera but I suppose that is part and parcel of being a royal. The fact that the candlesticks made by Veronica and the elves made by Carl Philip and Madeliene as children are still displayed is very touching.

  5. The queen looks so lovely. Less is more, it's always true. Gold and dark red - serious but elegant and very "christmasy". But what made me very very happy is that lovely photograph of Lilian and Bertil. What a lovely tribute, especially this time of the year!
