  1. Wonderful photo, wonderful news - but were they not Covid-19-positive?? I really hope this is not a problem?

    1. Yes I thought the same, a baby who will start his/her life under very special circumstances.

    2. Perhaps the baby will be born with some built-in immunity since mom and dad both have some antibodies? Who knows? This future little prince or princess may be be a big contributor to science. :)

    3. The covid19 infection is not a problem at all for her pregnancy. And the parents obviously feel fine. After having overcome the infection they are in fact immune.
However, a vaccination would be a big problem in connection with pregnancy or trying to get pregnant, and I can only recommend all women to read further into this before taking any vaccine. The producers list a number of possible side effects, some of them quite serious like birth defects and infertility, and yes, death.

    1. Il ne me semble pas que l'annonce précise qu'il s'agit d'un troisième garçon.
I don't think the announcement says it’s a third boy.

Many royal babies due next year, including from Princess Eugenie and Zara, Princess Anne's daughter, who are both due in the first half of 2021.

  8. Lovely news! I always thought they would have another 2. We'll see. But this is wonderful news, and indeed: many royal babies next year!

  9. I really can't join the general, reflexive enthusiasm of new babies any more. Doesn't the corona pandemic clearly show that there are far too many of us in the world? Why is it necessary to bring so many children into the world today. Resources are finitely. When will the royals realise that? How about another hobby? Frieda

    1. Frieda, I disagree. There have always been dangerous diseases like for example pestilence and cholera. And in those times there were not "to many of us in the world".

    2. I think that up to three, it is fine, don't worry. Not really desirable to go back to some 7, ... or 10 children or more, like empress Maria Theresa of Austria who had 16 children.

    3. Bet you're fun at parties.

    4. What? Are you saying that people should stop having babies or is it just Sofia? You do not like her, don't you? Children are giving us hope, I hope that everything is okay with you. You sound a little bit desperate.

    5. Who are you to question someone's decision whether or not to have children and how many? Having a child isn't a hobby and suggesting that royals view it that way is insulting to them.
I agree with Rita that the issue may be who is having a baby.

Beautiful picture. I love the mirrored image. Congrats to them.

    6. And what if the parents of the person who discovered penicillin had decided not to have him? Of if Jonas Salk's parents had decided not to have him? Then where would we be? Better off? I think not. I once heard some one say, "Babies come when their supposed to." It's not always planned or when we *think* they should - but when their supposed to. Personally, I hope they have a girl this time but as long as it's healthy and happy, IT'S A GOOD THING!

    7. Shame on you, this is not the time or place to make such a statement. Any child is a true miracle and all parents have the right to decide on the number of children they bring into this world. These two seem like wonderful parents to their two boys, and these are the people that should have children. I understand what you are saying re the world's population but think wrong forum.

    8. This is a bit of a weird statement. The pandemic did not exactly start because there were too many people on earth. It started because bats had the virus, people got in contact with those bats and it jumped over (a rare occurrence)... Then perhaps it wasn't taken seriously enough at first and that's one of the reasons it spread.
Nothing to do with population or people having children really. But if that's an argument you want to have, having 3 children is not necessarily an issue when there are others who have 1 or none. The average per woman in Sweden is 1,75 children, so I think they are fine.

    9. Dear Frieda, dont' t you think we are already fed up with someone bulling a girl ( Amalia) who has just turned17, saying she sees no beauty in beautiful women, writing nasty judgements in all the possibile languages in order to hide herself ( not successfully, I must say)...so,why adding this unpleasant and senseless remark?
Let's try to make this place a bit positive, please.

My best wishes to to Carl Philip and Sofia, wonderful news!
