    Boots are trendy in Monaco.

    1. Right! I’m sure the twins loved Albert’s glasses and hat. I hate the crocs but he’s in his home. I like how Stephanie and Camille styled their Christmas sweaters. Love Pauline’s boots.

  7. Fashion disaster indeed. There is very little sense of style in that family. The family members who have some good taste (Caroline, Beatrice) are not there, and the rest make for a crazy, excentric lot. Charlene looks rightout scary.
Anyway, they look happy, so good for them. It´s nice to see them come together for Christmas.

    2. The group size is restricted in Monaco as in many other countries in Continental Europe. If I remember it correctly, it's 10 grown-up persons. In an interview earlier this autumn/winter Albert told that due to the restrictions all the family is not coming at the same time to the palace.
Publishing holiday photos should be avoided - even in an ordinary family. Actually I'm enjoying these photos. Certain Christmases our family had come to mind (of course in smaller surroundings).

  10. For most of us, Christmas day is not a fashion event - and many end up with unflattering, silly, happy, loving photos as a result.
This is what it looks like to me here - people being casual and fun without worrying much about appearances. Sweet little ones. A cute dog... same as most of us.
Fortunate to be together on a day many of us couldn't be with family this year.

  11. Who cares what they dress like as long as they enjoy each other company. Let people be themselves instead of playing pretends...there's plenty of that already.

  12. Albert's outfit and demeanour made me chuckle, good for him. I agree that fashion wise, the ladies are not very fashionable. In my opinion, Charlene looks more comfortable and relaxed, with this side of the family than with Caroline's.

  15. I am pleased that they had a good time indeed, however was it a good idea to publish pictures? Pleasant to get an insight but good for their image? I get more and more the impression that we have a wrong perception about them . As Vanessa says, the positive thing is that they have a friendly relationship, contrary to some rumors. I want to be positive towards Charlene, but I am at a loss of understanding her. Difficult to make any fashion comment, except that Louis Ducruet is a good-looking man.

    1. My first reaction when I saw the photos was that they were of the Christmas replacement team for the circus of Monte-Carlo with Caroline and company not seen as they were doing the administrative work in the background.
However, after a second look, it appears it's a day off to have fun for (some of) the Princley family of Monaco.
Happy holiday period to them all.
Fashion comment: Nothing to say as it's certainly a dress down day with anything goes.
Opps, yes MaryT , Louis Ducruet is quite yummy.

No, I am sure that the woman with this funny Italian "name" is the same as the one who mixed Italian and English once (maybe a problem with her Google Translator?) and writes so many comments with so many first names /no names changing her opinions on the way.
She seems to be having a lot of fun (good for her) and a great deal of time on her hands...
I think she likes being centre stage.

  20. @ Vanessa... well done you are a master criticizing and putting people down, and at the end saying something that wants to resemble good will.. so speaking from both sides of your mouth.
Has it occurred to you that this was perhaps a way for the family to have a good time by wearing eccentric outfits. We do that in my tribe, is called ugly Christmas sweater day and we try to outdo each other by wearing crazy stuff.
    Chill out.

    1. Sandra, Vanessa's post was very pleasant and it had a lot of good will; did you notice Vanessa wrote "Anyway, they look happy, so good for them. It´s nice to see them come together for Christmas."
What Vanessa wrote is also true; Caroline in particular is always stylish. And Charlene looks almost scary in the above pics.

I notice nothing to suggest Vanessa should 'chill out', or that she be 'master of criticism and putting people down'. None of that exists in her post.
What you wrote reads like you're not happy with what Vanessa posted, and you go for her personality. - It did not occur to me that they may have been playing whatever, and it does not, because it is irrelevant. This is a fashion blog.
People often find it difficult to allow others to say what they think, when their own opinion is different. But they would expect the opposite, if roles were reversed. - Elli

    4. @Elli, and I disagree with you, to call Charlene scary is rather mean, she is not, you may like her hair or not, personally don’t care much for it, and I don’t think that they generally dress “ crazy” as Vanessa puts it. The comment is mean, and the end is priceless, is what one says after bashing you... sort of like calling somebody ugly and the saying “ anyway, at least she is tall”... do you get it?
On the other hand those are the comments that we get from this particular person, so nothing unexpected here.

    5. Hi Sandra,
I find it interesting how you agree with my impression and at the same time manage to attack me for sharing it.
I said that the family members in the photos lack style, look crazy, eccentric and (in Charlene`s case) scary. That they look happy anyway. And that I liked seeing them come together to celebrate.
And then you respond that they maybe "have a good time by wearing eccentric outfits", thus not only confirming that they do look eccentric, but that they have a good time anyway. Isn´t that what I wrote?

"We do that in my tribe, is called ugly Christmas sweater day and we try to outdo each other by wearing crazy stuff". So: ugly, crazy, eccentric - all your words describing the kind of outfits we see in the photos above. Don´t attack me for using the same words.

And for the record, I kind of like the christmas sweaters. They are the least problem in the photos.

      To Elli -
Thank you for your kind words.

    6. Vanessa, your track record speaks volumes. Please don't twist words and the way they were used to fit your argument. "Fashion disaster indeed." Negative. "There is very little sense of style in that family." Negative. "The family members who have some good taste (Caroline, Beatrice) are not there, and the rest make for a crazy, excentric [sic] lot." Negative. "Charlene looks rightout scary." Negative and mean, and that concludes your first paragraph.

Sandra used "ugly", "crazy", and "eccentric" to refer to what are known as "Ugly Christmas Sweaters". The uglier, crazier and more eccentric the better. You used the words "crazy" and "excentric" (eccentric) to refer to PEOPLE. Then you threw in "scary" for good measure. Pelting them with a few unpleasant names, then tacking on a forced courtesy at the end to make it right is not going to help. The damage is done. I don't know why you can't see this, but I understand that this is just the way you are. I know you enjoy the last word, so you may have it.

You sound bitter. If venting at my expense makes you feel better, then I´m happy to be there for you.

      Delete
    8. @ Vanessa, yes you always have to have the last word, nothing bitter about the comment above by the way. Glad to see that somebody saw your “ clever” maneuver to use my words within the same context that you use yours, but we both know that is no the case right? Criticism about fashion doesn’t have to become an outlet for judgement and disapproval of the ones wearing such fashion, however you always manage to do that. At least this is just your way to be negative about almost everybody, and not your uninformed, unscientific and dangerous ideas that you promote about health issues.

  22. Why does everything have to be high fashion with some of you? These are real people. I say good for them. There is nothing to criticize about a family getting together and having fun for Christmas. Props to Albert for committing to red, head to toe. The kids must have loved it. He certainly looks like a fun dad. I always say yes to an ugly Christmas sweater. The uglier the better. They are always good for many laughs.

@9:03 You said it! We certainly can see the worst in humanity on here.

  23. Wonder what the current rules are about Christmas parties (lockdown parties) in Monaco!!! Far away from what they are in many countries! They don't care about the example. In this respect it is to be rejected or at least not to be published. Lack of maturity. Monaco in under the administration of France for a lot of rules, wonder what French President thinks of it.

    5. Oh for goodness sake! The lack of maturity is to be found in people who criticise for the sake of it - and without foundation. They shared family pictures to wish people a Happy Christmas - how that shows a lack of respect is beyond me!!

Ten adults can gather together. There is no lockdown just an evening curfew which sets in at 8 pm. Covid-19 is under control and due to Monaco's size has been dealt with very efficiently (and continues to be so). They do not have to set an example for anyone outside of Monaco - and they aren't breaking any rules in Monaco.

Monaco is not subject to French administration - it has its own laws made by its very own government. President Macron has no say in how people get to celebrate Christmas in Monaco so nobody cares what he thinks.

  26. Caroline was very likely celebrating with her own children and grandkids which form a large number as well. I'm sure that the entire Grimaldi clan all had their own brand of happy silly fun (as they should) wherever they may be, and enjoyed a merry Christmas. I love seeing the little kids interacting with other extended family members. Charlene's hairstyle fits perfectly with this adventurous side of the family. They all look like they are having fun and it shows us a different, fun side of them. Love it.

In her Monaco period she did a lot of plastic surgery and every month a new hairstyle. This coupe now is really not flattering at all.
