  5. Looks like the ladies around her dressed for the occasion of a royal visit. Doesn’t look like she wanted to return the favour. Whilst I understand the desire to look ‘normal’, more appropriate alternatives exist. Not terrible, she gets away with it easily, I suppose- at least her skinny jeans don’t look painted on her.

    1. Really? To me the Countess is more dressed up. In my opinion an elegant sweater and boots is plenty dressed up to do physical labor. I think the ladies are dressed suitably for the work as well. I think one of them is wearing sneakers while the other two are wearing lace up boots.

    2. Perfectly appropriate attire for this engagement, she doesn't have to wear a formal dress to an engagement just because she is royal, geez. She looks beautiful, put together, and happy to be volunteering. She does a lot of great work.

    3. They look to me like they are wearing normal clothes to volunteer at a food bank. Certainly don't look like they have made an extra special effort to "dress up". I think all the parties involved will have been fully briefed about the purpose of the visit and dressed accordingly.

  7. The Countess looks great. She is real asset to the Royal family, she has marvellous work ethic, she just quietly gets on with the job with a minimum of fuss and bother. She has been like it since day one. Well done.

    1. I'm not sure if your statement is entirely factual. Back in 2001 the Countess was recorded to have made some controversial comments about Tony Blair, William Hague, and other politicians whilst suggesting that the potential client utilize her PR firm because it would reflect well on his countrymen to have the "Countess of Wessex's" PR firm representing him. It was after this that the Countess resigned from private business and focused on royal engagements.

I don't bring this up to embarass her or shame her. We all make mistakes. I'm just trying to illustrate that there are learning curves to royal life. There were several instances in which the Duchess of Cambridge made missteps too. I'm just surprised when people make blanket statements about how swimmingly royal women make the transition from private citizen to royal wife and hold others making the transition to these rose colored narratives.
