      @ Coralie
      Indeed!
      Off topic-
Can I say I am in love with Bayern and Munchen in particular?
I went on a memorabile trip there and I also saw Princess Sissi' s house in Possenhofen.
      What a beautiful lake there!
Moreover, I still remember me buying plenty of books in Amalien Strasse in Munchen.
I used a whole suitcase just to carry them to the airport !
Later , I made another different trip to Rostock because I had to board a cruiseship from Warnemunde to Denmark and Norway.
The weather in Rostock was very cold and rainy even in July!
Unfortunately, I could see this town only on a bus ride to Warnemunde harbour.
I am glad you enjoyed your trip to Italy!
      Have a nice day!
      Bis bald.
      Ciao.
      Maria

    3. Buon Giorno, Maria, it is off topic but I just want to answer that here in Munich we do miss our italian and other international friends - normally we would celebrate our world-famous Oktoberfest (we say "die Wiesn") these days and had to cancel it due to Corona. But we miss the Italians most! The second weekend of the "Wiesn" is well-known as "das Italiener-Wochenende". A lot of guests from the northern parts of Italy arrive by caravan, which is very smart, they don't have to pay the expensive hotels. And the Ragazzas like to wear Dirndl, which is beautiful, because our traditional dress suits every woman. During the "Italiener-Wochenende" you hear a lot of "Ciao, Amici!" in Munich! Yes, we do miss you!

      @Coralie
Thank you a lot for your nice and kind reply!
So,do you live in Munich/ Munchen?
      Oh, my gosh, how wunderschoen!!
      I simply love it!
      I remember a U- Bahn station called Stachus .
I do not know if it still exists, but there was an enormous ( department) store near the trains.
I entered from Stachus station and the way out of this store was in a other U- Bahn Station!
Then ,I remember Hertie in Westbahnhof and a very good restaurant just on the the last floor.
      Am I correct?
Yes, we miss your spectacular Oktoberfest, which unfortunately will not take place this year.
A friend of mine went to the Oktoberfest every year and he said he had really a good time there!
We also miss you Germans in Italy!
This summer was quite sad without you and a plenty of other nice tourists!
Sometimes people who meet me for the first time say I am German or Polish because I have a very fair skin tone and blonde hair!
When I say I am Italian they look at me with their eyes open wide!
Sorry, I have made a mixed salad, English/ Deutsch!!
Buona serata e buon fine settimana, a presto, grazie ancora e ciao,
      Maria

  6. My first thought is that they look so happy! It warms my heart. Charles looks so healthy and alert. Stephanie's pants are the right length and her shoes are cute. I think she should be wearing color near her face to look her best. It is difficult to comment beyond that other than to say it looks like she dressed for comfort. I am still waiting Guillaume to regrow that beard.

  7. Little Prince Charles is such a cutie, a joy to behold!!!! I like Stephanie's updo, but would like it better if it were styled a bit more carefully and anchored invisibly (asking a lot of a young mother with a squirmy baby to wrangle, but I love to see Stephanie looking her loveliest). Her earrings are great (I'm breaking my "long dangle earrings for evening only" rule here 😁); they bring a dash of style and flair without being over the top. The cardigan would look really fabulous in a thicker knit with more shape and body.

  8. I'm glad Stephanie is a normal woman with a normal postpartum shape. She looks happy and seems like a very sweet person. The baby's checks are the best. :)

  9. Oui, oui pour ces boucles d'oreilles mais pas fan de cette pince à cheveux ; le petit prince Charles est toujours aussi craquant et très éveillé pour son âge !

  17. The pants are just the same style and color that she had been wearing for years now, I like the shoes. The cardigan is unremarkable and rather shapeless, but the hair pulled up with a plastic banana clip is just not acceptable, nobody would wear these clips to a job and her job is to represent the family. Pairing this clip with what it looks expensive and classic earrings is inexplicable.
Just to be clear, I am not commenting about her persona but her fashion sense, she seems like a lovely woman. The comments about her being busy with a new baby are just puzzling, she as well all the Royals has all the help one can desire.
    Lovely family pictures!!!

    1. I think you miss the point entirely. Indeed I find your comment about a plastic banana clip (new word for me) inexplicable. Just because it is plastic and cheap does not make it a no no. It is serving its purpose in a very casual environment. What was she supposed to do go find a diamond encrusted one just to indicate that she is a cut above common mortals?

She looks very neat and tidy and actually better than usual ( in the shapeless sweater department) and in her choice of at home waer garments. She looks to me like she made an effort, used a brush and banana clip to tame her locks and added some earrings to appear like it was important to her to take some trouble to look welcoming to her guests. I cannot think of anything more welcoming than their choice of obvious at home clothing to make the visitors feel " welcome into our home please be as comfortable as we are in our house and please meet our baby Charles." What more could a midwife like better than to meet a thriving baby and made to feel welcome while doing it.

    2. Isabel L., from a fashion-point of view I think you might be right. But on the other hand I must say: is it not a breathe of fresh air that next to royal ladies like Letizia, Mary and Catherine or especially someone like Maxima there is someone like Stephanie? All in royal top positions, but each in their own way. I think the most important is that they take their role - and so their people - serious. And that is what Stephanie does.

    3. The banana clip is the tacky. They are cheap. It is a problem I have with Sophie Wessex as well. There are other ways to pull the hair up that look better and are just as easy. That being said, they are at home and she probably got herself ready. I don't think she is naturally gifted at doing her hair. If she had help, I would think, or hope, that the help would include someone that would guide her on what to wear and how to style her hair. I also don't think her guests care about her hair. If she gets more press over her hair than the purpose of the visit, these photos could come to an end. They are being generous in sharing them.

  18. At this rate of appearance, Baby Charles will have more engagement count than all the royals of Luxembourg! Not that I'm complaining, please keep bringing him everywhere.

  19. Today I will just defend the hair clip; of course it is very casual but it often gives a nice profil, which is the case here. I would have preferred it in a more neutral color so that it does not compete with the hearings. It is not top but not really bad IMV.

  20. @ Nalerina, no I am not missing the point and you don’t need to ridicule my comment by making false equivalents, no I don’t think that she needs to wear a diamond clip, you said that..banana clips are worn to put up your hair around the house, hairdressers use them the while cutting your hair, they are totally inappropriate for an official reception is like wearing house slippers to work, and I don’t think that pulling up your hair with a simple elastic and covering it with a strand of hair takes much effort. Also I don’t think that wearing well tailored clothing puts anybody above other mortals , that is your comment not mine. I have respectfully given my fashion opinion and you can disagree but there is no need to define my comment as elitist, that is not the case.

  21. I double-checked whether I was on the website about royal fashion or on the page "new moms .com".
Yes, Charles is a beautiful child, but tell me: which child is not beautiful?
Yes, Stephanie is a nice, happy, pleasant, sensitive ... new mother. I know that the child comes first for her, not fashion. But I will say honestly: This outfit is careless, she has no style. The sweater and blouse are shapeless, wrinkled. When I had a child, I took more care of the look - and unlike her, I did not have a nanny, staff, I had to take care of the household myself on my shoulders ...

And I also want to respond to Amy, who said, "I'm glad Stephanie is a normal woman with a normal postpartum shape." I think even women who don't have weight problems after giving birth are normal. Or maybe they have, but they are handy enough to wear appropriate clothing that covers the shortcomings and highlights the benefits.

Of course, all children are beautiful.
I would define that a truism.
And yes, I do agree about her not being the best dressed royal lady.
Anyway , the joy this baby has brought to his parents is so overwhelming, I daresay, that I am forgetting even to notice the clothes she is wearing.
What I see is a more than happy family and this warms my heart.

  22. Nalerina, I agree with Isabel above, these banana clips have a functionality to pull up your hair around the house, gym, on hot day while walking your dog, to get in the shower if you don’t wish to get your hair wet, but never for any type business or formal engagement. These clips arte the flip-flops of hair. There may be a perfect good reason for her to pull up her a hair in a pinch, perhaps she wore it down and baby was pulling it, it happens....
That being said, we all can have different views on fashion, and there is no need to be condescending to people that have respectfully express their opinion. I respect your view while deeply disagreeing.

  23. I would like to see Guillaume holding his son more when out in public, since he is the heir and of course the cameras will focus in on baby Charles and the person holding him. Stéphanie's banana clip seems to be not attached properly (perhaps Charles had grabbed it); she didn't put much effort into this whole outfit. ~Laurel~

  24. Agree on all counts with Isabel above, plastic hair clips bought at the discount store aren’t a good fashion choice under any circumstances and this is what this blog is about. Stephanie is not a fashion conscious person and that is perfectly OK, but saying it so is not in any way taboo. There is no need to get snarky with other commenters because they express a respectful and different view. Making arguments like she is making an effort, she is a new mom, she is very nice etc., has no bearing on the choices she makes about outfits.

  25. I think Stephanie looks fine for the occasion - especially the well tailored trousers and smart shoes. The hair clip unfortunately competes with her earrings and detracts from the look. (V.M.)
