Sofia looks great. Icy blue is a good color on her.

    1. So do I. She wears it well.
BUT Prince Carl Philip needs to find another tailor.
Plus he needs advice of what shoes, ties etc. to wear.
Maybe his young cousin, Prince Nikolai in Denmark who works for or has worked for Dior could give him some guidance on male fashion/s.

  4. She is trying, but not very succesfully and she has a clumsy taste for shoes, sorry...

    1. Is it just that what she is wearing is not your taste, or can you give actually reasons why you think it's not a good look. Like:

      1) Ice blue is not a good colour on Sofia and why so. Because I personally think it is a very good colour for her skin tone and brunette hair colour. But may be you think different.
      2) The blouse and trousers don't fit her. In this case you should be able to point out what exactly does not fit, width, length, cut and so on. I used to work in fashion retail and from my experience I can say, size and cut are perfect. But maybe you see things that I don't see.
      3) Her outfit does not fit the occasion. If you think so, what would you suggest instead? I personally think her choice of wardrobe -affordable highstreet fashion instead of luxury brands - is a good choice for a daytime meeting
      4) Maybe you think the accessoires are not good. I would say light grey is a good colour to go with ice blue. She stays within the 'glacier' colour theme. Even Carl Philips tie matches :-)

In my eyes all together a nice, polished, and successful look. Hair and make-up are also nice and suitable.

So, what exactly makes you think, she is 'just trying'? What makes you think, this look is not successful? Could you please explain? I would really like to understand how you came to this conclusion and where the flaws of Sofias outfit are.

She supports her friend by wearing these ugly shoes. She owns them in 1000 colours. They look so unroyal, they go well with her....Frieda

    4. The shoes look like the Denise suede pumps from Stinaa J. with a little plateau. Although I think pumps without plateau look more elegant, I wouldn't call them 'ugly'. Or even 'unroyal'....? What exactly is an 'unroyal' shoe? Btw they come in about ten colours, not 1000....

    5. Anonymous25/9/20 01:59

If they are indeed Stinaa J. – and I agree with Beth's assessment – then to my knowledge you have to censor Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine as well for horrible shoe choices as they have both worn the brand before.

As far as I can see the Stinaa J. shoes are orthopedic so called 'comfort' shoes. They necessarily can't be as delicate and elegant as other brands. But let's give the royal ladies some credit. Like everybody else, they may have days, when they just can't do them killer heels and need a more comfy shoe. People don't need to like them. But to call this pair of shoes 'unroyal' and discredit the wearer = Sofia as 'unroyal' goes too far. The commenter had another agenda in mind.

Nothing wrong with her shoes, Victorias blue boots on the other hand there we can talk...

      @ Beth
Yes, like I mentioned further down. I actually own a pair of Stinaa J. and they are really comfortable compared to other heels. I think given the time Sofia and other Royals have to stand and walk short distances etc. on these engagements, it's only natural that you want to wear something that doesn't kill you at the end of the day. I also do not see anything wrong with how they look but I guess that's in the eye of the beholder. Like you said, the commenter may have her own ready-made views.

She looks lovely. Happy and healthy. Love her pants. She has a lovely figure. Pretty smile. Nothing sad about her to me like some people have said. Love Carl Philip’s blue tie. They look very nice.

  6. Quel plaisir de voir sourire Sofia ; elle est délicieuse dans cette chemise à carreaux mais je ne suis pas fan du pantalon qui est trop large ; quelle drôle d'impression au niveau de la ceinture !!

The colour I love, but I’m not sure about the wide trousers. They make her petit frame look bulkier than it is.

But there are definitely clouds at the skies of this couple. Her smile looks being forced, he seems uncomfortable and the distant body language of this couple speaks volumes.

They are shoulder to shoulder in most shots. They don’t look distant to me. Just my opinion. But I don’t see why people think she looks sad.

The outfit, the hairstyle... She has a 70's feel about her, like she could be in Abba. Which is a big compliment, she looks really nice and stylish.

    1. Anon 5:59, it's funny that you mention ABBA - my thoughts too! She could be a 2020-version of Agneta with her young and fresh appearance! What is your favourite song? Mine are "I have a dream" sung by Frida, "Thank you for the music" and of course "Dancing Queen" since hubby and I love to dance.

    2. Yes, I also get the ABBA Vibes from Sofia. Great ABBA Fan here 🙋‍♀️ My all time favourite is 'Waterloo', it was such a big thing 1974 when they won the Eurovision Song Contest.

I love the look of paperbag pants, it follows one of the main points of the female silhouette (=waist) instead of contradicting or hiding it. Simply beautiful. This type of pants suits almost every woman (as opposed to the monstrosity against women called skinny jeans). This shirt is maybe a little bit too masculine for the pants and I think a dark blue top could have been better.

  11. Love the colour, really like the long wide legged trousers, high waists are great for all of us who are not stick thin and also for those who are. The blouse itself is also good but tucked into a waist line which already has got a lot of detail looks bunched up . Shoes are gorgeous. Can't understand why Anja considers them clumsy

    1. I agree with most of Annie's message; I like the shoes as well. I also agree on the Abba vibe, great group.
I am also against speculations about the couple, on grounds of principles, and also based on a few pictures. A video on the website of Gala.de gives a different impression.

She looks really good in that color blue. Love the pants. Those are popular right now. Better looking to me than the tight suit pants the royal ladies wear. These look nice and comfortable.

I like her shoes. Just standard heels. Look very nice with those pants. I like them. Shirt is fine. She looks lovely. Like someone said, I like it that Carl Philip has the blue tie to match hers. Or same family anyways. They look wonderful.

Love this color on Sophie, the entire outfit from the wait up is great, though not quite sure about the wide pants. It's all very coordinated and lovely, just not 100% on the pants.

  17. @ Beth, love the way you dissected the entire outfit, I agree a 💯, my only quibble is that I don't like the shoes, the color is perfect but the style is somewhat dated, obviously that is just my personal taste.
    She looks healthy and happy!!

    1. Hi Cherry Blossom, how are you? Still a fighter against Covid? I hope you are doing well. Yes, the shoes. I get it. They are actually some sort of orthopedic shoes and I guess you have to compromize when it comes to 'comfy' pumps :-))

    2. Anonymous25/9/20 07:44

Exscuse me what is dated about the shoes? We see royal ladies daily in a copy of this style.

I love Sophia's outfit. The color and style is very flattering on her. Her accessories are the perfect color. I would like to see her replace the shoes with a new pair in the same color without the platform. I get the feeling she does not spend a tremendous amount on her wardrobe, which may be the reason why she is still wearing these shoes. She has cuffed the sleeves up instead of having them shortened. Small things like this do make a difference.

Not to take any thing away from the royal family I like the handsome guy dressed in black on the far right. To shake it up with a black denim jacket, white tee shirt, black rolled up tapered jeans and the club shoes give the look a sophisticated touch.....

  20. Anonymous25/9/20 01:59

Well that is a ridiculous statement. Unroyal. Whatever. Whether you like her or not, and you obviously don’t, she is a royal princess now. And since she married Carl Philip she hasn’t put a foot wrong. She has kept her head down and done an awesome job. She looks lovely. Outfit is appropriate. Professional. They are a nice looking couple. Jane

I love the outfit. The don't know what the problem with the shoes is tbh. I happen to own a pair and they are incredibly comfortable. Not sure about the handbag, the colour seems a bit too dark in some of the pictures but that may be the light. All in all, I always think that Sofia is very well put together and her hair is just perfect and shiny. Love her! Glad she looks so happy here.

Sophia's shoes, Stinaa J. 'Denise' Pump, have a plateau/platform. They are no longer in style. Kate used to wear a pair of nude L.K. Bennett 'Sledge' Platform Courts that she retired several years ago. Maxima still occasionally wears pumps with a platform and usually gets called out for it. While the 'Denise' and the 'Sledge' are still available, styles have moved along. Both brands do sell shoes without the platform.

As one who is tired of the 19 fashion years of low-waisted pants, I hope to see a return to pants fitted at the natural waist. Tired of the muffin top and having to adjust them all the time. Women need to get their natural shapes back, their actual waists; it also makes their legs look longer. Go Sofia! ~Laurel~
