After the confirmation service, the Royal Family attended a reception with Praeses of the Church of Norway, Olav Fykse Tveit, at Skaugum. The Norwegian Royal Family had decided to obey the recommendations in connection with the current pandemic, issued by the Norwegian government and therefore, the Royal Family celebrated the confirmation only with close family members.

It’s a personal choice. The men can wear costumes if they want to:)

Indeed. I see that in other occasions too, where only women wear the traditional costumes. Why not the men too?

It isn’t as usual for men to wear a “bunad” (our national costume) as it is for the girls. A lot of girls get a bunad for their confirmation, but guys usually wear suits and don’t have a bunad

    4. Tradition. It have never been tradition that the royal men wear bunad.

Despite restrictions, Magnus was still able to celebrate his day in an intimate ceremony with close family. I love seeing Ingrid and Leah in their bunads gifted them by their grandparents. The King looks like he lost weight.

First and foremost this is a fashion blog. The fashion of the attendees is what we are being shown, not the ceremony itself. Sverre Magnus is not wearing anything that can be commented on.

hahaha! You're right, only at the last photo I was reminded this is about Sverre!
Nonetheless, all the family members look fantastic! Happy healthy and all! We can see where the boy comes from :)

I agree. Even though this ceremony gives us another opportunity to see the wonderful bunads of the royal ladies, the young prince remains to be in the spotlight !

      You misunderstand:
Its not about him: his confirmation is the occasion for dressing up, like mostly is the case on this site.
      Nothing wrong there.

  12. The national costumes are gorgeous. Queen Sonja looks exceptionally beautiful. The young prince seemed to give the ceremony the seriousness it deserves. He seems like such a nice young man.

The women look great in their traditional costumes! I hope that the King is not ill...he seems to have lost a lot of weight.

  14. A great day for Sverre Magnus. The ladies looks magnificent in traditional costume. The richness, colour, accessories worn and workmanship that goes into these gowns is simply exquisite. The garments are beautifully crafted, a work of art. I have never seen Queen Sonja look more beautiful.
