On August 4, 2020, The Duchess of Cambridge visited Baby Basics baby bank in Sheffield, northern England. Baby Basics is a volunteer project supporting families in need struggling to provide for their newborns. In the UK, they are powered primarily by volunteers and typically run on professional referral from services such as health visitors, midwives and social workers.

How many cousins have Duchess Catherine? I mean children of brothers of Duchess father.

  3. Lovely lady. She should have worn wedges or summer shoes, these heels don't seem for the occasion.

  4. Beautiful elegant white dress and gorgeous shoes. Think the dress is nicer with the self coloured belt rather than the black belt she wore with it at Wimbledon last year. Similarly the lighter shoes and so nice to see her in proper shoes rather than the ever present espadrilles. Respect to her, too, for carting boxes around wearing them (even if it's for the photo op)! I like the colour and the top of the Boden dress but it's too long for my taste--doesn't look right with the trainers or with the heels worn by the model. The Duchess has certainly looked good this summer.

Two pretty dresses but the styling let her down. The heels are the wrong shoe choice for the event. The floral pattern on her mask is pretty. The Boden dress is a great shade of green. The sneakers seem like a good choice for the activity. Not a fan of the black velvet hand band with this outfit - the fabric is to heavy.

One of my favorite dresses, very retro and feminine. I must say that I like it better with the white belt. She looks fabulous?

If you are the same person that requested English posts a few days ago, I would think the dressing down you received would have resonated with you. If you are a different person, I would suggest looking back at the posts on August 1, "Princess Charlene shared a photo from 2020 summer holiday of Jacques and Gabriella". That should clarify the feelings of the other people that visit here.

While this blog may be in English, plenty of royalty fans speak other languages. You don't have to read English to enjoy the pictures or comment on them. English is third most spoken language in the world behind Mandarin and Spanish. There are plenty of website that can translate things from one language to another.
My French is a little rusty but the general idea of Tulipe's comments are : Pretty white dress that fits the Duchess perfectly. She prefers Catherine's natural hair color. Native French speakers feel free to correct me if I mistranslated.

Well, Anon 10:32, someone was willing to cater to your selfish demands. I hope it doesn't happen again. While very kind of E.B.B. to offer a translation, it is just encouraging your behavior. Please translate the posts yourself, just like the rest of us do. Why should people be excluded because YOU can't be bothered to translate? Please play well with others or leave the playground.

She looks great, but poor Duchess, why does she have to deal with all the issues around babies and children, just because she is a mother herself and a woman? Incredibly antiquated. Why not an issue around research or technology? Frieda.

    1. There is nothing out dating or wrong about a woman in such a high position using her platform to spread awareness of the well being of babies and children. She has created intatives and projects that talks about children's wellbeing. Some of you on here just love to make weird snarky comments to get attention. I thought people were adults on this blog smh.

      Frieda,
Why poor duchess? Why do you assume that Kate "has to" take on these patronages? You might think that she would be drawn to these organizations because she is a mother of young children. It is obvious how much she loves children and how comfortable she is around them, as well as the mothers. It is not antiquated at all. If her heart is there, what is the problem? I am not sure why this is an issue to you. My children are grown, but I would choose these very types of patronages. Working with children has always been my calling, and I am not living some 1950s ideal.

Davion, we here in marketing always say "projects with children always draw", even if it is only for own advertising purposes. So much for that. I like Kate, really I do, but I remember earlier days when she was quite awkward with children. But that's not my point, I just wonder why William - a father of three, a parent like her - isn't as absorbed in children's issues as Kate in public. And I ask myself why? Because she is a mother, a traditional role model? Still this works...obviously. That*s all. THank you, Frieda

This is such an important project to highlight, especially during these times. I like the simplicity of the dress and am happy to see she has worn the original belt instead of the belt she wore at Wimbledon. True, her shoes are not the most practical given the fact that she is working in addition to speaking with people, but it is hardly a problem if is not a problem for her. I am most impressed with the fact that the royals are wearing masks, first Camilla, now Kate.

where did she find these dresses, so dated.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Totally disagree re being dated. The white dress is timeless elegance, albeit with a forties vibe. Genuinely think it is one of the nicest things she has worn all summer (and I generally am not a fan of whites/creams/beiges). The green dress is too long for my personal taste but I think it is very "now" as far as pattern and style are concerned.

The white one is a jealousmaking dress!
    Absolutely gorgeous and stylish.
The combination with the high heels is not a good one.
Love the green dress with the sneakers, her loose hair ánd the good works she is doing!

  14. I love the white dress. It suits Catherine's body line very well. It looks very 40ish, Her hair is styled beautifully. The print of the green dress is nice, but the dress is too long, in my opinion, especially when paired with the trainers. I too am not a fan of the headband. A ponytail would have been nice, I think.

  15. I think the same as Winue, otherwise, the dress Duchess wore at Baby Basics, I think it's too elegant for the event.

Duchess Catherine looks great in these dresses. A great rewear of the Suzannah, but I agree with someone who said the shoes, while lovely, seem out of place for the task. The green is a great color, print and style especially with the shoes for someone moving in all directions while being photographed every second and I do I agree with someone about a different headband the black contrasts the summer fresh look.

I also think it’s great the duchess is supporting those causes she most desires to and a great many women can relate to those issues of motherhood and children. The extra focus and encouragement, especially for expecting and new moms, is even more important and surely appreciated during this long season of COVID.

Per What Kate Wore, she’s wearing: Superga Cotu Classic trainers ($65). The shoe is on sale at Road Runner Sports ($39.87 in a decent range of sizes). For any interested, the article also has great detail about Catherine’s heartfelt desire to participate in Baby Basics after being impacted by some of the stories moms had previously shared. A really great example of choosing to participate in whatever way one can (small or large) to try helping others. Have a good one.

  20. @Frieda, believe or not most humans can be interested and patronize different fields.
Nothing wrong with a woman being interested on the wellbeing of children, it doesn’t make her inferior, quite the opposite. It’s called walk and chew gum at the same time.

Anon @7:46... yep! When there is a post about the Suxesses, some start running around with their hair on fire, whining about why they shouldn't be on this forum, but when they don't appear, they just can't stand it and they have to start conjuring up misdeeds so they can attach them, pathetic!!
