Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary yesterday. On the occasion of the anniversary, Crown Princess Mette-Marit shared a new photo. Crown Prince Haakon met Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby in 1999 through mutual friends. The couple got engaged on December 1, 2000. Crown Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit got married on August 25, 2001 at the Oslo Cathedral.

On the eve of their big day, Haakon and Mette-Marit threw a pre-wedding party at Oslo's Akershus Castle. The following morning, they got married in a one-hour ceremony at Oslo Cathedral. Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit have two children, that is, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus.   1. Happy Anniversary to this lovely couple. Love both the wedding photo and the anniversary photo. Aren't they both looking good almost twenty years on? He is one of the few, in my opinion, royal man who looks better with his beard. As I recall, Mette-Marit's wedding dress was beautiful, simple and elegant --certainly one of my favourites. Hope that they have many more years together.

  6. MM was a beautiful bride. Her gown was superb, she proved less is best. Simple, elegant and stunning, she let the perfect cut and features of the gown do the talking. Her simple necklace was the perfect finishing touch. It still remains my favourite. They are a lovely couple.
