I like how they match. Williams plaid jacket and unbuttoned shirt give off a more casual vibe while still being put together. Catherine's shirt dress is lovely. I like the clip dot pattern and tie at the waist.

Her dress looks very appropriate for this occasion. What a great gesture to give money to the organization's. William and Kate are the future of this Royal Household. For being a commoner, Kate has done a great job. Love this couple.

They seem to be healthy and very engaged, but not positvely looking into the future.
Sticking to the distances and wearing facial masks - it does something to people. Duchess Catherine is wearing a pretty, summery dress. Certainly she didn´t want to distract from the topic. I like the haircolour, but I`m not a fan of the Dyson-curls. A becoming hairstyle in the middle ages of a women is difficult to find.

I have been liking her hair straighter, like she was wearing it in her last few appearances. I know she is known for her curly blowout, but I have visions of the elder British Royals with the same hair for decades. I do hope she is willing to explore other styles and truly become a more modern royal. She looks fantastic when she pulls it back and when she shortens the length. She has experimented a little, which gives me hope.

    2. I prefer her hair straighter as well.

    3. Did she take the colour and idea from Princess Mary of Denmark?
Princess Mary changed to this look only a few weeks ago.

Nice photos, summery dress, the new hair color, not so much. Too much orangy color in it, makes her face look older. More simple golden highlights would have been better. Lovely smile none the less.

Catherine looks so fresh and summery in this adorable dress and William looks relaxed and happy. They are such an adorable couple. Not a fan of the new hair color or the the weird curls. I loved the darker color hair and the softer waves she used to have. Beautiful smile as always.

Although Kate looks solid dressed at first sight, I find her somehow artificial here. Not girl, not woman. I would have considered a mid-length dress more appropriate for her age etc., apart from that it has a nice look, is light and fresh. The hair colour does not suit her so well, but who looks good with orange hair? ;-), Frieda

Classic beauty. Her appearance radiated peace and serenity.

  10. Her dress is lovely and befitting for summer. It's got structure but movement and lightness as well. I do have to agree with the hair. It is a touch too warm here and the curls are a little too coiled for my preference.

such a boring dress, and very expensive

  12. Dress is lovely and summery. Agree with comments re hair. Not sure that this lighter colour is an improvement. Definitely prefer her hair straight.

  15. Her hair is the same color as her face. Her natural darker hair complemented her complexion much better. What has she done to herself? And the dress...so much money for such a plain dress. But she looks happy and contented and so does William. I suppose that's the most important thing.

  16. I can agree with several comments; it looks fresh, summary etc However to me, it looks too plain, too classic... I have often read the word matronly here, this is the first idea which comes to my mind. Some say the dress costs a lot of money... if so another disappointment.

I think this is more a girls dress from the sixty’s.
Alas, I also donot like neither the colour nor the curls of her hair.
She used to be so stylish and relaxed, I hate to think that all that happened around her has deminished her spontaneity.

I also came across the attribute "matronly" more than once in this blog. But for me it simply means that someone does not have the fashion vocabulary or the ability to differentiate. Classic and plain is simply not the same as matronly. Yes, this is a very simple summery breezy dress - but why for God's sake "matronly"? this type of dress can be worn from the cradle to the grave. I suppose Catherine does not want to draw overly much attention to her clothing when participating at this kind of meetings. The BAFTA show or an evening reception are more appropriate for what some people evidently expect from her each time she leaves her house. - Hair: Me too ... I also prefer it at least half-up or drawn back from her face. (-Ann.)

I wouldn't use the word "classic" to describe this dress. Bland and boring are the words comes to my mind. In general her style could be described by the word matronly. -Siri

  19. Her dress looks like a school uniform. The colour of her hair is a disaster. I just do not understand it. Her own hair colour is quite dark and suits her so much better . Why on earth does she try to hide her grey hairs by colouring it. It has spoilt the shine and texture of her hair. With such thick locks she can afford the grey in it . It would not age her one bit but what she has done now does.

  20. The Duchess looks so summery and fresh here, and I love how William is matching (and has a little relaxed vibe). Catherine's shirt dress is perfect for this engagement in the garden. And yes, I've enjoyed her straightened hair lately too, but don't mind it back to wavy here since it is in an updated curl (plus, I like the lightened color). Nice to see William without a tie and a slightly relaxed dress for a change of pace.

They both look great. Wonder if the blue was an NHS nod. Love the dress, especially the shorter length in this shirt dress, and the little flare at the bottom edge. Both very fresh, casual summery.
