The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted attending an appointment in Beverly Hills Friday. The Duke and Duchess were visiting a medical office building in Beverly Hills. The Duchess wore a new asymmetrical sleeveless linen summer dress from Magic Linen, a female-lead sustainable company with matching cream and black ballet flats. It’s believed she wore Chanel classic ballet flats. The Duchess wore a lightweight woven straw hat from Janessa Leone called the Sammy.

    1. I was so cross about the personal comments about the Duke and Duchesss I forgot to say that I love the cool and summery dress except for the asymetrical hemline and I would have prefered sandels to those ballet flats. I find the two-tone shoes too formal and dressy for the dress. I hate sunhats and only waer one to read in the sun so no comment about the hat.

Fashion comment: Love the dress worn by the Duchess.
The Duke (Harry) looks quite cool, USA style, in his jeans and polo.

    3. She is femme fatale. She has ruined Harry who is devastated. He has no friends. She is using his father's money. The fact we don't see Archie does worry me. He is a neglected child. Is anything wrong with him? I am afraid so. As a pediatrician i am really worried.
Or she is a just a bad mother? She is a selfish low standard not too highly educated TV actress. She does not care about anything but herself. She likes to be a trouble maker , as othereise nobody would pay any attention to her.
Poor Harry, I worry about him. He reminds me the devastated professor from the old film The Blue Angel.

    1. I for one am still very interested in their fashion choices, frivolous as it may be or seem. Given the duchesses exellent taste a great deal of the time I enjoy seeing the clothes choices made in the different cultures they have lived in /are living in/ will live in.

If one more person thinks the interest drops in what clothes they have on (REMEMBER this blog is about fashion) and they are no longer Royal I am going to scream.
THEY ARE ROYAL you cannot unroyal them just because some soul wishes to do so. Just because they have chosen to take a step back and think their lives through and try to decide how not to fall to pieces in the public eye, you cannot UNROYAL them at will

So please everyone let the people who enjoy this light hearted blog about the fashion choices of royal, unroyal or near royal like persons, continue to pull apart or admire the fashion choices NOT the persons.
I don't care how much you hate, pull apart or despise the choices of Queen this, or wonder how princess that ever came to wear such an abominable object thus. However PLEASE leave the persons behind or rather in the clothes alone

    3. They are still royal. They don't use the HRH and they don't represent the British Royal Family but they are still royal - and guess what, some of us are still interested. Including, I'm surmising, the owner of this blog.

    4. As an American, obviously I am not an expert, but what I have read Harry is still a royal because he was born a Prince. And Meghan, as his wife, shares his title and rank. Even if they drop the HRH and the Duke and Duchess title, they will still be known as Prince and Princess Harry. Meghan cannot be Princess Meghan, because she was not born to the title. The only princesses that can use their own names are Anne, Alexandra, Beatrice, Eugenie because they were born princesses. Even Diana technically was not Princess Diana. Her correct title was Diana, Princess of Wales (sharing Charles' title.) The press and public called her Princess Diana. I guess Harry could drop the Prince title if he wanted to, I just have never read of anyone doing that. Anyway, Harry and Meghan are royal and will remain so, unless Harry decides to make a change. I can't see the Queen making any changes. Not doing royal work doesn't mean they aren't still considered royal. At the moment they still retain royal rank (HRH) even though they are not using that designation. While we're on this subject, it's interesting to note that many blogs and columnists still write about people who carry royal titles even though their governments no longer have monarchies. They are non-reigning royals and everyone is still interested in them. I'm thinking of the non-reigning Greek royal family. Their Queen is a sister of the present Queen of Denmark. The glossy, high-end fashion magazines are filled with stories and photos of royals such as these. I'm thinking also of Princess Caroline of Monaco's daughter, Princess Alexandra, who gets a fair amount of press even though her title comes from a non-reigning royal House in Germany. I thought she got some sort of public relations job for fashion. But I'm not sure about that.
Other posters can make any corrections if I am wrong about this.

    1. How is he supposed to dress? He is dressed casually, just like the other people walking around. There aren't any "rules". He can dress any way he wants and he won't be accused of breaking any imagined "protocol". He must have wanted to wear comfortable jeans and a polo shirt or he would have worn something else. Just because they are in a wealthier area, or they are known to have money (or because they are royals), does not mean they are supposed to look a certain way. That is just being phoney. It is always nice to see them (all royals) being "regular people".

  6. I like Meghan's dress. It looks comfortable and easy to wear- a great dress for running errands. Can't go wrong with a pair of classic ballet flats.

This is not a criticism of Meghan. In general, when celebrities wear big hats and sunglasses to "disguise: themselves, I feel like it draws more attention to them. I would more likely give someone a double take if they had a mask, sunglasses and big hat on than say just a mask and sunglasses.

    2. There don't seem to be any reports of them trying to disguise themselves. I did look. The only comments about Meghan's hat were that she was wearing a sun hat on a hot, sunny day. Skin protection is very important here. Of course we wear sun glasses year round, even in winter on nice days, and masks are required. I do see what you are saying though.

    3. I get headaches from sun exposure. I started wearing a hat in addition to sunglasses - helps a lot. When in public, I also have to wear a mask. And here you go - that complete ensemble as Meghan is wearing, explained by weather not a desire to disguise.

On the vehicle. In big cities security companies use these heavy duty vehicles to move their clients around. The windows are tinted to preserve their identity and the drivers are well trained. It is cheaper to rent for a few hours than to own them.
Without the need for the mask M would be just another chic lady going about her day.

They are royal - in spite of what you might say. He is HRH Prince Henry, Duke of Sussex. The fact they don't use the style and don't do public duties doesn't stop them being royal.

    2. You may not care about what she wears but other people do. And another thing.. They are Royal. . If your family is in business and you choose not to work in that business but to carve out your own future doing something else, does that make you not part of the family? You people think because Prince Harry stepped back from being a senior royal he's no longer a royal. He only stepped back from the job from the senior position. NOT FROM THE ROYAL FAMILY. Harry is born Henry Charles Albert David, the son of Prince Charles the next king, where does it say he's not royal. He may not be doing royal duties but he still is.

    3. Please keep publishing them. Some people are interested in what they are doing and what Meghan is wearing.

Seriously don't get why some people can't understand the difference between not wishing to represent the BRF officially and still being able to be royal. HRH Prince Henry, Duke of Sussex sounds pretty royal to me. They don't use the HRH, but they could.

      Delete
    4. To Unknown who says they aren't royal - you're the one who is wrong.

Harry is not and never has been a commoner - he is a Prince of the Blood. He was gifted the title of Duke of Sussex which as bestowed by the Queen is a Royal Dukedom. As his wife, Meghan is entitled to be treated with the honours that go with that position.

The Queen did not say they were not entitled to use HRH - it was agreed they would not use it to pursue commercial interests.

They do not represent the BRF - they are, however, still royal.

Nothing to do with opinions and everything to do with facts.

Plenty of other members of royal families feature on this blog - and they are not styled HRH. If you aren't interested in the Duchess of Sussex, fine. Move on. But stop posting misinformation.

    5. With all due respect annoy 9;11, they cannot use the HRH titles. It was part of the agreement with the Queen.

    6. @ Unknown 8:21 Please research your statements before making them. It saves you from sounding foolish. Harry is who he is by birth, and that cannot be changed, no matter how much you wish it could be. He is a married man, and his wife is a royal by marriage. Again, wish as you might, you can't make it true just by wanting it to be so. Think about Diana, Princess of Wales and Sarah, Duchess of York. Upon their divorces, they relinquished their HRHs, not their titles. Legally, they were no longer members of the BRF, but were not stripped of their titles. Harry and Meghan are both members of the BRF, retain their titles, but DO NOT USE their HRH now. At least use what common sense you have before making ridulous statements. Again, looking at history, it takes a lot to "lose" one's HRH. Andrew still has his, and uses it, when he should be first in line to be stripped of it. If anyone is an embarassment to the family, it is Andrew. Asking to step back from duties as senior royals is hardly a serious offense. Andrew's behavior has been egregious.

      Delete
    7. Anon 11:14 - they agreed not to use HRH in any commercial endeavours - and in the recent work with their patronage they haven't been using them. However, should they come to the UK and represent the family then they can use the designation - it hasn't been removed. They are still HRH whether they use it or not.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter - HRH or not they're still royals.

  17. They stated, they wanted to 'step away' from public view, yet they always seem to have publicity people, put out articles, or where they will be speaking, or accepting speaking engagements, which is not 'stepping away' from the publics view. Harry is a Prince, he always will be, even though he does not have the HRH now, because of his choice, or his wife's choice. She was not born into royalty, but married into it. She was never a HRH, why continue to give these people exposure when they said they did not want to be public?

    1. @11:13 You have managed to throw in all of your grievances with the couple (which are none of your business) into a few lines. It all comes down to comprehension. ...Either you have it or you don't. There were no kings and princes at the time of Adam. Royalty is a man made ranking system. We are all born, live, and die, no matter how many titles you are decorated with. You were not born into royalty and never will be, so you cannot preach about unknown and unfamiliar rules.
If they chose to step away, it is like leaving Company A to create your own company, example, Oprah gave up her daytime show and created Harpo. They do not want their private/family life dissected in public because of leaks to the press. These normal errand runs are done by everyone in society. The few instances when they are seen are most likely a fraction of the times that they do go out. They get exposure because people make money selling the pictures, and the 'news' outlets make more money in advertising by offering them as clickbait. Not that difficult to understand...and there is always the option of not reading the article and moving on. Julio.

    2. I have read all the comments regarding Meghan and Harry's titles. So to refresh my memory, I went back to the official statements from the Queen and Buckingham Palace. You can click onto this link

      https://www.royal.uk/statement-her-majesty-queen-

"Harry and Meghan will retain their titles His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but they will not actively use them as they will no longer be working members of the family.
I'm paraphrasing here. Not a direct quote,.

So they still have their titles and royal rank. There will be a review, I think I read somewhere, in a year or so. There may be more changes then. But as matters stand, all they did was decide to not use the HRH designation (even though they still have them).
But as I said in an earlier post. Harry was born a Prince and I don't think under British law, that can be taken away from him. And Meghan, as his wife, by law, remains Princess Harry. But I'm getting in a little over my head here, I"m not positive of that. But I would refer you to the blog "Royal Musings" written by Marlene Koenig. She is a widely recognized expert on all things royal. Someone could write to her.

  25. I am out of here for a while but before I go I leave here some FOOD FOR THOUGHTS about INTERNET TROLLS, mabe this helps to understand these poor souls leaving these ugly notes about people they have never met:

"Research has shown that trolls tend to have an inability to build healthy relationships offline," says behavioural psychologist Jo Hemmings. "They are not always the sad, bitter loner that we might expect – and not always men, female trolls are on the increase - but their relationships will certainly lack balance and they may feel that they are not respected enough by their families or partner.

"Often, they lose a sense of responsibility and self-awareness – a process known as deindividuation – and their anonymity means that they have no need to regulate their behaviour online. It's similar to the way people might behave in a jeering crowd or as a football hooligan - normal rules of social engagement are lost in the mass,"

    Have a wonderful day all!
