On June 25, 2020, The Duchess of Cambridge visited The Nook in the village of Framingham Earl, south of Norwich, which is one of the three East Anglia Children's Hospices (EACH). Using plants bought during her visit to Fakenham Garden Centre last week, The Duchess of Cambridge worked alongside an East Anglia Children's Hospices volunteer gardener to plant a garden that will provide enjoyment for children and families.

I like Kate's hair very much. I think she was due for a change and this is age appropriate. The curls have had their day. I hope she will consider keeping the straight hair. Taking off some length would be even better.

I wonder why she dressed like this to pot plants, other than it was probably expected of her. She would have been much more comfortable in some pants and sneakers or boots with a cheerful top for the children. She could have also left her engagement ring at home, but we know the rumor mill would start working overtime. I am crazy about her earrings.

I’m really getting angry hearing things like “curls had their day” etc. Kate’s hair ist naturally curly (look at old photos) and straightening your hair damages it throughly. I would love to see her with even more curls. My hair ist naturally curled as well and it took years to accept it thanks to people like you who think curls are out or just for small children and that only straight hair is beautiful. Which is of course absolutely nonsense. Meanwhile I started to love and embrace my curly hair and a lot of other women with straight hair envy me for it.

I, too, have curly hair. It is a love/hate relationship. Without a proper blowout, I look like a tumbleweed. It takes a lot of effort to get controlled curls. We saw how Kate did with her hair during quarantine. It did not resemble the bouncy curls she is known for. She did much better pulling it back. Wearing it straight can be easier now than it once was because there are hair tools for just about everything. She could be getting this straight look from a heated brush. Who knows? There was no suggestion of permanent straightening. The same amount of heat would be used to get the curls or to dry it straight. In other words, the same amount of damage. She has worn some variation of the same hairstyle for many years now. BTW, it does not say "curls had their day". It says, "THE curls have had their day.", referring to Kate's curls. It also mentions taking off some length. There is no hate for people with curly hair or people with long hair. Just observations about how Kate might look better changing her hair a little. Sensitive much?

No social distancing when planting? No masks? I love the dress, though wearing it to plant things was not a good idea.

I don't see what's wrong with the dress - my mum does loads of gardening and wears dresses to do so.

    1. I don't see any sense in comparing them. Catherine is more a lady, she seems more reserved, Sofia more a girl, she seems to be more extrovert. They are both adorable, both beautiful in their own way.

A lady? A girl? They are in similar age ( born in1982 and 1984).
The question is about beauty not personality.

    4. Anonymous 3:24, what I wanted to say is not about age. It's about someones aura or radiance or whatever you can call it. Some women are in their 70 and still have something of a girl, others are thirteen years young and already appear as a lady. And I don't think you can seperate a persons charisma from their outer appearance.

    5. These comments are so unnecessary. Both ladies are beautiful in their own way. Some of you really need to grow up and act like adults.

It was a school girl kind of question that Anonymous 12:10 asked. The kind of question you write on a note and pass around the class to the other girls and they all add their answer before passing it on. I assumed no one here would actually go so low as to answer it. Yet here we are. Anonymous 12:10, you have detention after school for a month.

This is Kate, of course. In every way. I would never say "they're both adorable" as far as Sofia is concerned. She simply has a past that has never fit into royal life, as the Swedish royal family has unfortunately been too tolerant. If she had married Mr. XY, fine with me, but marry into royalty? I can't take her seriously as a "royal". That's my opinion. Frieda

    14. Anon 10:20 PM. If I had to choose a spouse or partner for one of my children I would without a doubt choose Ms. Sofia Hellqvist with her unconventional but innocent past than HRH Prince Andrew, Duke of York with his unseemly friendship with the seedy millionnaire Jeffrey Epstein. Since her marriage Sofia's conduct has been irreproachable, whereas the Duke, being born in the purple, should have has more respect for his family and his position.

I don't understand the hate for Sofia. None of us are perfect. Would you like everyone to judge you by choices you made in your early twenties? The way some of you are talking about her past makes it seem like she was a murderer or committed an awful crime. She was on a reality show and posed for pictures in a magazine. Her actions didn't hurt anyone. Frankly, I find much to admire in Sofia. She completed online coursework for the sole purpose of being able to volunteer at hospital during the pandemic. Her efforts along with the other volunteers provided much needing relief to overworked healthcare workers. How many of those judging Sofia so harshly would be willing to do the same?

She looks lovely. I like the hair this slightly shorter length. The dress is very pretty and perfectly acceptable for the event. It was 32 degrees on Thursday - trousers would have been much too hot and I think shorts would not have been deemed acceptable on an official visit. I like to see her interacting with children - and i like how she manages to incorporate her interest in gardening into her patronage.

Loved the outfit and the DoC's hair.

I understand that the government's advice is to keep 2 meters apart and only wear a mask if that is not possible. The Belgian, Spanish and Netherland royals have shown the balance of when to wear masks and how to been seen not wearing masks. Queen Mathilde even has colourful masks that match her outfits. Would like to see British Royals wear masks more.

  10. Gorgeous summer dress--my idea of perfect--short sleeves, v neck, nice pattern, great length. Absolutely love it. The Duchess is looking wonderful in these pics--so good to see her out visiting again.

  11. At last the Duchess has gone back to what truly is her own style. It is what I call British pretty with flowery cottons but it really has always suited her wonderfully well. When left to her own devices in the years before her marriage this is how she often looked and it suits her. It does not suit an awful lot of the ladies who wear them though. I know I would look a disaster in a pretty floral pattern but I think she looks stunning.
Her natural hair is more or less frizzy not curly and it gives her a great deal of volume when blow dried and that’s how she wore it before the curl the ends and smooth the rest blow dry appeared in the years after she became a member of the house of Windsor. She seemed to be wearing what was expected of her and not so much her own style for a number of years. Perhaps she has more confidence now to pick what she likes. At any rate I love her more casual hair I don't see anything wrong with it long at all. “Age appropriate” good heavens she is only 38 not in her dotage what’s wrong with longer hair if it suits one.
I dislike her shoes immensely and I do not think they go with the dress all that well either even if I did like them.

Her skin looks so bad here. Years of tanning and smoking have really taken their toll. It makes her look much older than she is. I do like her dress.

Also, the not wearing masks thing is really irresponsible. Her own Father-in-Law had Covid, but the whole family is walking around like it's not a real thing that is happening to this world. Such a bad example to set.

She doesn't smoke. She does lead an outdoor life. Her skin looks absolutely fine to me.

Rules on masks here in the UK are for use in confined spaces - you can see that she is trying to keep distant as far as is possible in the majority of these pictures.

Masks help - but they really aren't the answer to everything.

FYI we are called women in the 21st century. Anonymous getting upset to anonymous in a sea of anonymous. Others insulting poor Sofia that had nothing to do with this post, others stating that Kate looks terrible ( she doesn't) after years of tanning and smoking, I don't think she does either....
