I like Maxima's earrings and necklace. I usually find her jewelry excessive. They really connect the blouse and suit nicely. I do wish she would stop throwing a belt over everything she wears. Her top is designed to be worn untucked, skimming the body. The belt is unnessary and looks like an afterthought.

Exactly what i was thinking re the belt. This definitely seems a better put together outfit and appropriate for the meeting. Wish she’d stop the coat as a cloak thing. Either put it on properly, wear a shawl (there are several in the wardrobe) or brave the 10 metres from the car to the building.

    2. I absolutely agree with all the above comments. The top could have been ok without that belt. Plus, I'm one that isn't a fan of a jacket as a cape either (put your arms in or wear a cape). But as stated, the jewelry is nice, much simpler than she normally wears and looks nice.

    3. I like the belt; I prefer cloths close to the body rather than loose. Bearing in mind the hairstyle she has adopted, I think it is ok today.

  2. Jolie chemise sans manches ; dans un tissu plus léger et un petit décolleté en V, Maxima aurait eu beaucoup d'allure ; j'aime beaucoup les boucles d'oreilles et le sautoir assortis !

As usual, messy hair ruins the over all look. Sad really, she is a beautiful woman.

Queen Maxima is elegant and chic. Her hair looks great today. She always carries herself with poise and grace.
Apparently, it has become sport by some to criticize her hair, something I don’t find in other blogs.

Actually, it is repeatedly on the main Dutch blog, Modekoningin Maxima......
the awful hair is annoying because it is unnecessary and it gives an impression of being above the generally accepted set of rules on how to be presentable. One gets the impression that Maxima thinks she looks great with the messy hair...... that she looks great no matter what.....

I quite like the belt, it accentuates her shape. Some days the comments about her hair get really tiresome. It’s like listening to a broken record. It’s probably not going to change soon, so please spare us. Perhaps try to focus and comment on something other than her hair - she has a lot to offer, her outfits are sometimes spot on and OTT and other times questionable or hilarious. But she keeps it interesting. Lady M

I think Maxima is trying to create a shape where one does not exist. There are ways to use clothes to trick the eye, but belting all of her clothes is not the way to do it. Not all styles are designed to be belted. Wearing fit-and-flair style dresses are one way. She could also accept the fact that she has lost her waist and start accentuating her best features. To my eye, the belts she adds end up drawing attention to her trouble area, one so many women have. A few sessions with a stylist would help her immensely.

I totally agree with you about the hair comments. It is the same day in and day out, both the hair and the comments. Stating the obvious is offers nothing to the conversation. It is just mean spirited.

I would love Máxima to change her " always-too-much-of everything" style in "less is more". The latter has so much more class. Like this suit, its simple, good colour combination and suitable for this working visit. I always admire her commitment and the sincerety with which she does her work.

  8. Classy plain outfit. Love the perfect length of the trousers as shown in the photo of her wearing it previously. Agree that the top would look better without the belt. As usual she looks totally engaged and enthusiastic about the visit.

  9. I like the blouse and the suit but just not together. The neckline of the blouse is fighting the suit it would look much better with a lower V, straight across or round neckline. I agree get rid half the belts. I like her wild jewelry some of the time. The combo here I feel the necklace is nice but I feel the earings are just not Maxima too tame.
