  1. Belle allure de Maxima très estivale avec cette jolie tunique et le pantalon dans un tissu léger, le tout dans un jaune lumineux ; ah, j'oubliais les grosses boucles d'oreilles qu'elle porte à merveille !

She is a real piece of art herself. Love her unique style, her strong, joyful personality. - Siri

  4. Queen Elizabeth on her pony, Queen Maxima on her bike, great efforts from these royal ladies to save the planet.

  5. Love Queen Maxima's outfit. A great touch of summer and appropriate for getting about on a bicyle. She seems to love her work.
Question? Why wasn't there a comment from the Queen Maxima hair critics about the hairdo of Madam Tatiana Santo Domingo on this site yesterday when she was doing up her gifts to help refugees? Her hair was hanging about with an unkept look, but not a single comment from the critics of Queen Maxima.

Possibly they’re aren’t interested as she isn’t a Queen? And people hold consorts of Kings to a higher standard of dress and grooming?

Because she wasn't out on an official duty as the Queen of a nation but posted a casual photo of herself dressed down, with no make up opening boxes. And her hair was loose but is in perfectly good condition which is not the case for Queen Maxima.

Whilst I would agree there is one rule for certain people and another for others I really think you aren't comparing like for like at all.

    3. Comparing the hair of Maxima and Tatiana is indeed not comparing like with like. Tatiana has longer hair spreading equally all around and lets natural styling. Maxima has actually a far more sophisticated hair cut with different levels, on which opinions diverge and, I think, it requires more care.

She looks great, even the hair. Did she arrive by bike (I think she lives there somewhere)? It's a great outfit for riding a bike, and the bright yellow makes sure she can't be missed. Just not sure about the tips of the shoes...

Maxima looks great is this shade of yellow. I would have have preferred a slightly shorter top. Her accessories compliment her outfit instead of competing with it. I love her sunglasses. The black, yellow and green snakeskin purse was a fun & vibrant choice.

  8. Now that is how you do it!, hop on a bike and off you go. The Queen is a breath of fresh air!. She is individual and unique. She looks great in this beautiful shade of yellow. Her outfit is the perfect choice, especially hopping on a bike. She is very bright, sassy and definitely has it where it counts. Out and about getting on with business. Well done Queen Maxima.

Reply to deadeggs. - I don't think it's necessary to repeat the same every time Maxima appears with her bad hair style; I find it very bad.

It seems to lead to the situation that if one says 'Maxima's hair style is bad', the speaker gets criticized for saying something negative about her apperances. Then, if a person says the same again on another occasion, the speaker gets criticized along with ' why do you always carry on about the same thing?' And now, if nobody says "Maxima's hair style is bad', the criticism is 'Maxima's hair style was hanging around looking unkempt, but why didn't anybody say her hair style is bad?' - How could one possibly win? - Ellie

  10. This is a win in my opinion for Maxima (especially for the things she has been wearing recently). Yes, it is bright yellow, but it is summer. Plus, the outfit seems to fit appropriately. Her hair isn't as horrible either. Her accessories seem appropriate for the outfit (even though those gold tips on the shoes are not my fave). But given her recent history, I will consider this a win.

In Denmark the royal family is used to cycling through the town, it’s a good thing that that is possible.
The outfit: summer on the beach.

    1. Well it is summer and she lives pretty near the beach about 2 km I would think and it is quite normal here to go about your business by bike. Getting around the Hague is easy there are bicycle paths nearly everywhere and it does not rain nearly as much as I think it does in my mind. Whats more rain would never stop a Dutch person on a bike. A bike would not cause a Dutch lady to forsake her stilletos, short skirt or other fashion item either. I admire them immensly along with Maxima I am getting there.
She even jumped off her bike in the old fashioned elegant older lady Dutch style but she hasn't quite got it yet she still had to run a bit. If you are born and bred here they just casually step off the thing and it listens to them and does not run away with you.

  12. I really like her blouse and pants in style and colour but not on her. I just don't think the yellow suits her colour wise. I have thought that before when she has worn yellow. I have not figured out why I feel that, maybe her skin tone just does not go with yellow because the yellow outfit is in fact really very pretty. I keep feeling we are seeing a clothes horse not Maxima. I can't say I like the chosen shoes either bits of gold or bronze leather on the tips I never like but thats my phobia. I would have prefered sandals or flat tennis shoe style.

For the first time in months she looks great!! Wishing she would wear this style more often: less is more and not always those complicated models

You get the feeling that she serves as a constant advert for her 'Firm'. Brainstorming meetings for each appearance, and here the result. Juli

  15. Love the fact that she's out on her bike instead of in a chauffeur driven car. Also liked the yellow top in the earlier pictures and the bright yellow colour is a great match for her sunny personality. However, when I saw the whole outfit, it sadly reminded me of a judo or karate outfit. Small complaint compared to the pleasure of seeing her out "on duty" again.

  17. No security people around?

  18. I also thought about security people. I don't think it is possible to find out from the pictures; maybe there were some security people but not until the last hundred meters OR she did only a short distance cycling and the rest by car??

    1. I am sure there were security people there also on bicycles and it is a very short distance to the palace from the museum. All three of her daughters go to school (when we are not in everyone to stay at home fase) by bicycle so why should she not do it. Our prime minister goes to work every day also on his bicycle.
