Jordanian Royal Family celebrated the 74th anniversary of Jordan’s Independence Day

On Monday, Jordanians celebrated their country’s 74th Independence Day. In 1946, the country known as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan became a sovereign state. On May 25, 1946, ​Jordan won its full independence from the British mandate and was declared a kingdom.

As part of celebrations of the 74th anniversary of Jordan’s Independence Day, a ceremony was held at Amman Royal Hashemite Court. The ceremony was attended by King Abdullah, Queen Rania and Crown Prince Al Hussein. In addition to that, King Abdullah gave a speech to the nation from Raghadan Palace.

It was King Abdullah I, the founder of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, who spearheaded the struggle to make the Kingdom an independent sovereign country against formidable obstacles. King Abdullah I declared the Kingdom independent on May 25, 1946.
