The four children of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, that is, Crown Princess Elisabeth, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel and Princess Eleonore had phone conversations with lonely old people and care staff from all over the country. Since the start of the Covid19 pandemic, more than 300 conversations were made to support isolated elderly.

    What a great idea!
The Belgian Royal family is doing so well in this period, and involve their children in a good way.

I totally agree. I think the Belgian Royals have gone above and beyond--reaching out with compassion and always thoughful.

  6. What a great idea. Can you imagine the excitement for the old folk receiving these calls? They must have been just thrilled. Well done to the Belgian Royal family---and all the Royal families for the encouragement they have continued to provide throughout the Covid crisis.

  7. wonderful idea!
The times are hard. Social distancing is the best you can do, but hard vor everyone.
Hardest it is for people with no family or good friends (because you never had some or because they died because of age or you lost the contact to them)

It's important not to forget the lonely people.

It is very kind and warm of Belgian royal children to talk with lonely old people by telephone. No one left behind.

These parents have set a wonderful example by involving the children as much as possible. It teaches them empathy and gives the old people the gift of companionship that money cannot by. The family has demonstrated the best approach to the crisis by far.

Clearly the Belgian royals have the depth and breadth of their country at heart. Their activities are so broad reaching but also so meaningful. I admire them greatly. The way they are bringing up their children is so remarkable as well. They all seem dignified and almost humbled. Hat off. CH
