Please, no more of the nasty looking hair. You are a queen, act like it! Brush/comb your hair. If you cannot style it properly, get a hair cut, or put it in a ponytail, or something, other than this horrible looking mess.... JT

This is not the time for hairdresser appointments. And I certainly wouldn’t call that a horrible mess. Please be civil, compassionate, and empathetic - it’s better for your own well-being as well. Stay safe.

Anonymous 2:13 am. I have a right to my opinion, just as you do. She is the queen, act and dress like it, use a comb, or cut the mess, its really quite simple.... JT

    4. It's a style called "shaggy-chic". As in France and perhaps other countries, all hairdressing salons are closed (for more than 4 weeks now). I've been noticing that there are less and less blonds around. The natural colour is growing back. Many disappointed husbands and boy friends perhaps :-))

    8. Allow me to repeat my opinion : the real problem with the hair is the excessive thinning or layering of her hair cut, which she obviously likes! Just a combing does not really help on that hairstyle. I feel sure she has read about some comments on her hair, but she is a determined person, rightly so, she will go on with the style she has chosen.
Moving to the decoration and furniture of her study room, I find it too flashy, although I like some mix of old and contemporary style, this is not good taste IMV.

  7. Imo Maxima’s dress is lovely. I also suspect it may receive a lot of unfortunate “Little House on the Prairie” snark 😄. That said, I do not think that Maxima is wearing this style of dress to best advantage here. She doesn’t look put-together; imagining what is on her feet you expect them to either be bare, in flip-flops, or in bedroom slippers. That is not a great thing to imagine. A queen modeling stay-at home chic in a prairie dress needs, minimally, to sit up straight, brush her hair, and pin it back to reveal tasteful earrings. And — hypothetically — if she shows her feet they need, minimally, to be in nice espadrilles or ballet flats. (Sorry, but if you love prairie dresses as much as I do and are over 35, as I am, you’ve given a lot of thought to these things 😄.)

Covid-19, Are you serious.....Queen Maxima's hair always looks like it needs a shampoo and styled. It is fair game to comment on her fashion and appearance when she is featured on this blog especially when she was probably was the one who was responsible for the photos being submitted. Look, everyone likes Queen Maxima all we are saying is show you care a little and just brush your hair. Lastly have you ever commented on her. I doubt it!!!

There have been so many comments about her hair, do you think there is a possibility that she is going for the "wind blown" look and she can't carry it off, could it be she is just lazy.....Whatever the reason she is a queen who is pushing 50 years old who represents the Netherlands and needs to get her act together!!!

What do you expect? She smokes cigarettes and bleaches her hair blonde. There's no way it's ever going to naturally look good. Every time it has looked good and healthy, it's been because of what are probably deep conditioning treatments and extensions. Now, she can't have those, so we're seeing her real hair. But some are right, she could still do better than this. It's like they're forgetting that they're being photographed?

I like this hard working queen with her wonderful smile. In the beginning of her relationship with Willem Alexander, she had the same hairstyle. But her hair was still thick. Now because probably of bleaching her hair is wispy and thin. So it really needs to be cared for much more.
Also because her hairstyle sometimes destroys her whole look.

  17. Why are people so nasty? Maxima is beautiful, intelligent, elegant...has anyone been able to go to a hairdresser lately? She is a working Royal..proactive and staying in touch...that is what is important...not her hair, or dress. They are showing that they care and so should all the people who are criticizing her.

People are not nasty. This is a style blog, people are commenting on a very poor hair style that looks like she needs a good comb/brush. It is not due to covid, she usually has this mess, which is strange, she is intelligent, lovely, has a unique fashion sense, so why the hair mess is baffling.

Many of you do not endorse legitimate criticism such as Gitte 3: 06 "This is not the time for hairdresser appointments ... Please be civil, compassionate, and empathetic -"
Let us not be overly sensitive and hyper-correct. Why not criticize? Criticism does not make me a bad person. Sadly, criticism is mistaken for hatred or even racism. MY opinion is: the criticism is healthy, you can reject it or learn from it.
Yes, Maxima has a terrible hairstyle. Closed hairdressers are is not excuse. I work from home - I teach my students online. When I sit in front of a PC camera, I always have a nice hairstyle, makeup and outfit. And unlike Maxima, I don't have the staff to take care of the household, and I prepare the documents for work myself.

Yes, I know this fairytale, because I am from the former Czechoslovakia (now the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic). It is the most beautiful filmed fairy tale in the world.
In addition: I am very proud of the leaders of Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as our health professionals, for their response to the coronavirus epidemic. To date, there are only 14 dead and 1199 infected people in Slovakia since the outbreak of epidemia. Our residents behave in a disciplined manner and wear protective masks on their faces since early March. I have been teaching online students for the fourth week. Our president Mrs. Caputova was the first to wear a protective mask on her face in public, setting an example for other people. At the same time, people in Britain had fun at the Cheltenham Festival. It is a pity that sometimes you do not publish her photos on this blog. She is a beautiful lady, head of state and always well-dressed, and perhaps she deserves it more than some ladies who have married into a member of royal family.
I feel very sorry for the hard-hit countries like Italy, Spain and Britain, where they have thousands dead.
      I pray for them. Stephanie

    4. Dear Stephanie, Thank you for “introducing” Mrs. Caputova to the readers of this blog. Sorry, I had not heard of her before and was very impressed when I found her on the Internet. An elegant lady and indeed an interesting political figure. Her hair is pinned back and looks neat and appropriate. The queen of the Netherlands represents her country and not herself and her sloppy hair is incomprehensible. I could be more precise.......

Our national broadcaster airs that movie every Christmas Day at 11.00 o clock in the morning. The Scandinavian Christmas Day (julaften) and main celebration is on the 24th of December, so that's a bit confusing for everyone who celebrates on the 25th.

There is probably a time for making a kindly comment on someone's hairstyle, and there is of course the concept of constructive criticism. However, I don't find this to be the best time for fashion critique nor are the comments very constructive. To hint that she doesn't own or use a hairbrush or doesn't act like a queen is not constructive or legitimate to me.

I am constantly amazed by the amount of scorn and ill will in many of the comments -- even during a time like this. It really makes me sad to hear that someone finds the wish to act civilized and respectfully towards other people "overly sensitive" ot "hyper-correct". Stay safe.
