On April 27, today, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, Princess Amalia, Princess Alexia and Princess Ariane are celebrating the King's Day at their home, Paleis Huis ten Bosch. The King's Day is one of the main public holidays in the Netherlands. However, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the advice of the government to stay home, this year, the holiday's name has been changed as Woningsdag, or "Home's Day".
The King's Day is celebrated every year on April 27 in Netherlands. On this day, the reigning King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander was born. During the day, photos of the celebration of King's Day by the Royal Family will be shared through television, messages on the social media channels of the Royal House and also the website www.koningsdagthuis.nl. Dutch royals will contact with television channels and the said website via video calls. Due to the corona crisis, the celebration in Maastricht could not take place this year.
Queen Maxima wore a new floral print silk satin half sleeve wide-leg jumpsuit by Seren. Princess Catharina-Amalia wore a new broderie anglaise cotton midi dress by Lisa Marie Fernandez. Princess Alexia wore a new shirt dress by Karl Lagerfeld.
Lovely ladies, and the King looks very good too. I like the yellow dress best.

La combinaison fleurie de Maxima ne l'avantage pas surtout avec la grosse boucle de la ceinture sans parler des chaussures rouges ! ردحذفI agree with you about the belt and shoes. The belt looks like it was thrown on just so she would have a belt when it looks so much better without one, and the shoes are very clunky.

حذفOHHH Maxima that belt and shoes! What gets into you? It just spoilt totally an elegant casual suit even if I am not crazy about the suit. With just a simple pair of sandles and no belt but a pair of your ever crazy red and blacck enormous earrings you would have looked so nice.
Lovely photo of the Family. Sadly the Kings day could not be celebrated with the people. This invisible virus does so much harm to humanity. We have to rethink of a new normal. I am finally over this virus, believe me it forced me to my knees. I wish everyone stay healthy.

ردحذفIt may seem frivolous but it is lovely just to look at clothes and be able to comment. I like the younger girls' dresses but the Queen's outfit is just too flowery for me and Catharina Amalia's dress is too yellow! I love the Queen's red shoes and Amalia's sandals--would prefer them as heels but wedges make sense---for her and for me! Great to see the family together for this event and dressed up for a party even if at home.
Princess Catharina-Amalia's face is so special and radiant. She will be a beautiful Queen one day. The rest of the family is beautiful as well! :)

حذفIf I have to find a word for Amalia and particularly Alexia, the one which comes to my mind is : they are a bit "poseur" (the dictionary says that is good English). Ok I admit they still have to find their own style in public appearances. But I agree on their respective choice for their outfit, incl Maxima's jumpsuit.
I personally don´t get what should be so very beautiful about them. I just don´t see it.

But it's another thing to verbalize your distaste of more permanent things, like genes. These things cannot change, not without plastic surgery etc...
@Laurel: People are saying here that they don't find these girls beautiful, which is not exactly a nice thing to say. Especially because we are talking about children here. Critisizing adults, ok. Critisizing kids, please not. Let them be children with there own insecurities. They will be criticized enough once they are adults.

If it is to repeat under each head : she/he or they are nice or so nice, then I fear it will get boring. Or then we should have a website with only pictures, as some others... Perhaps just one point, not so easy to keep in mind: sensitiveness about style or color is not the same in all countries.

Best dressed in my eyes is Amalia, she looks fantastic, great dress in great shape and colour, it fits her perfect! She's glowing and smiling what fits her also very perfect! The shoes are very nice, too.
I think they all look great. Max's joy at seeing her daughters involved in evident. They seem very close knit. All the ladies are lovely and their own personalities are coming out. The King looks good too.
