The group got together for a conversation with The Duke and Duchess in order to talk about issues like mental health, equal opportunities for all, and the importance of supporting youth leadership in addressing global challenges and driving positive change around the world.

It’s an interesting dress..and it seems to fit her very well. I like it but I’m not sure about the colour though. It might be a little too orange for her complexion. (V.M.)

Style is ridiculous, and the color is not flattering to the D of S. Actually, I can't think of any complexion that the color would flatter.

    2. I agree Coralie - Harry seems to be trying so hard to be young and hip. It looks forced to me. Sorry, I know this is a fashion blog! On that subject I agree with the person who said the dress looks good on the model but does nothing for Meghan.

I believe is called joy & empathy, also just a captured moment among many. Me wonders if you find Catherine childish when she plays ball and jumps up and gown with the youngsters... asking for a friend.

    4. Anonymous 7:37, no need to wonder. You give the answer to yourself: "when she (Catherine) Plays with the youngsters".
But here Harry did not attend an event with youngsters or children.

  14. I think the color looks great on the DoS. I'm not usually a fan of asymmetrical hemlines but it works here. It brings about a relaxedness to the look without trying to hard. By wearing her hair down she evokes the same relaxed fall of the skirt.

Interesting to see the disparity between the comments made towards the DoS and those made towards Queen Rania, who often wears "fashion forward" ensembles and favors asymmetrical hemlines. From my point of view people don't shy away from voicing criticisms when it comes to the DoS whether it's:

    - "white is not appropriate for this time of year" (whereas the Countess of Wessex gets a pass)
    - "her dress is too tight" ×100 (but the DoCs jeans are often defended)
    - "the irregular hem is a tripping hazard" (Queen Rania regularly wears asymmetrical hems and I'm pretty sure plenty of royal ladies have worn long dresses before)

It reminds me of tabloids going on about how avocados can help with hyperemesis gravidarum in relation to the DoC but they fuel war and genocide when it comes to the DoS.

I feel sorry for her and Prince Harry and sincerely hope that the constant barrage of cruel or unnecessary criticism do not make it to their ears. One can only be so strong.

    3. A lot of exageration in your analysis, Anna. As far as I did criticism on your so called "white". It was not the colour which was meant, but the summer material and styling. There has been no criticism on the white colour of her jacket the day before! You cannot put on equal footing comments about "too tight in the breast area" and skinny jeans fitting perfectly! Asymetric hems are generally always criticised whoever wears them (however not by me!). Sorry you are on the wrong track Anna. Except that indeed tabloïds seize any opportunity to cover paper with ink.

    5. Some people point those things out, and some like the styles DoS has worn. If you want to see something, you can find it.

I happen to not like many of QRania's ensembles. For me they are a little too-fashion forward for my liking. I think DoC is entirely too thin (but she likes it so there you go.) The DoS doesn't get a pass on anything, true, but I don't think the other ladies do either, honestly. The eye of the storm goes from one to the other, since the press is a for-profit enterprise and that's how they make their bucks.

I think this dress is nice enough, has a relaxed vibe, I am loving her hair down and think they clearly both look happy. I'm "meh" on the color since it doesn't pop quite like the ensembles we just all saw from her (which I thought were stunning,) but I give her points for trying a color not typically worn (same with fabric, cut). Gotta be imaginative.

he clothes are nasty. Poor cut, bad color ...
Another is important: I read in a British newspaper that thousands of British may already have killer disease (Coronavirus) and the Sussex family have a meeting with the QTC network at Buckingham Palace. Doing conferences and meetings in this situation (when European states are canceling school lessons, cultural, sporting events, conferences) ... it's ... weird..

    2. Shouldn't the Queen have cancelled the Commonwealth church service or the DoC should have teleconferenced the Place2Be evening event which occurred later that evening? Why just the Sussexes, who by the way had this event earlier in the week, prior to both of those aforementioned engagements? Arguably the Sussex event is safer as it is large gatherings which are discouraged. The DoCs event and more so the Commonwealth Service were far bigger.

I like this dress. It starts off at the top and continues three quarters of the way being pretty normal, then ends with a bit of whimsy. Nothing wrong with that. I'm not a fan of the colour though, and not on Meghan. Her hair and makeup are lovely however, and if being free of royal bounds makes them this much relaxed and approachable to young people and their causes, then they have done the right thing.
I wish them all of life's best and look forward to hearing of their new adventures.

The dress looks better sitting down. IMO, the dress looks horrible on the model and is just a mess in general - it doesn't even work as an editorial piece for me. I will give Megan points for going outside the box though. It's definitely not a "royal uniform" type of dress.

On a side note; just wondering, will she and Harry be allowed to continue their work with the Commonwealth? The other charities and patronages their involve with seem a bit different than something involving the COMMONWEALTH.

I just think that this place is about what people wore for a function, and nothing else. I also think that there is no need to justify for what people like, and if e.g. Meghan wears an outfit X and looks good in it, it is perfectly fine to say that e.g. Sophie of Wessex wore the same outfit X, and it looked no good. That's because people have different bodies and proportions, and what looks good on A may not look good on B. - Ellie

  26. This style of dress is very unflattering. The hemline I am not a fan of be it a dress or skirt. The upper bodice, waist and sleeves seem non descript. The colour is not very appealing. Regardless to me it doesn't look nice on the model either.

@Anon 6:41 Coralie is correct. They aren't racist. Just snide, mean, biased posts from people that only see something wrong in every picture. They aren't mature enough to move on to the next topic. They act like like they are three years old, just like someone accused Harry of being...Oh wait! It was Coralie!

This blog is but a small example of why they have decided to step back. No one, no matter who they are, should have to live a life with so much judgement thrust upon them. They should be able to live their lives in peace, do good works, and go back to a private life. Just because Harry was born royal does not mean his life belongs to the world. It is a shame he was told his royal life must be all or nothing. He and Meghan have so much to offer. Twice the shame that Andrew is still has his HRH, and his daughters have theirs. Andrew wants support for himself and his daughters while Harry doesn't want any support. Both men were born "the spare", which is code for "you don't really matter". The one main difference is that Harry has a plan for himself and his family, a plan for independence. Good for him! He won't end up like Andrew and for that matter, Margaret (another "spare"), who need the royal lifestyle. While Andrew is coddled and protected, Harry can be proud of himself for taking the initiative to become independent.

Yesterday I was at the checkout line at the Market, I had to wait until the person ahead was finished, so I looked at the headlines of the Trash magazines. The National Enquirer had the headline the Queen destroyed the chance for the Sussex's to make a Billion Dollar Meghan threatens a Tell all TV special,or something like that the picture on the cover was the Q, Harry and Meghan all three with very angry faces. The other rag was I think the Globe, their headline was P Andrew tried to commit suicide. I really believe this is all wishful thinking of these Idiots, who put this crap on paper, just to sell papers. The women behind me called someone and told her what theses rags had as headlines, she told the person she called, never mind this virus she needs to get to the Store and check out the papers, it seems this trash was more important then to stay healthy? Honestly do people really believe all of this nonsense? it must be. She bought the last two papers. I had to smile and shake my head unbelievable. So no one needs to wonder why people trash Meghan and Harry.Maybe they should sue them right out of existence. I don't know if you will post this if you do Thank you.
