In these times of confinement caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Queen Mathilde wanted to encourage young Belgians to take advantage of this free time to read more. To do so, the Queen shot a video in a living room of the royal castle of Laeken. In the video, the Queen reads an extract from the work of Marie Colot, called "Jusqu’ici tout va bien". This novel recently won the Victor Prize for Children's Books. |

Oh, quelle belle jonquille lumineuse..Très bonne suggestion de la part de Mathilde en cette période où nous sommes tous confinés !
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfull idea from a wonderfull Lady!
ReplyDeleteNice initiative. I don't like the color of her jumper, if I dare I would say I hate it.
ReplyDeleteThis colour is all over the (closed shops) this season
DeleteThis is not a terribly intelligent response.
DeleteLooks like she's ready for easter! I don't mind, yellow is a happy colour :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, she looks bright and cheery!

You're very brave, MaryT! 😁
ReplyDeleteI'd classify Mathilde's top as neon yellow, and as such it may elicit both strong positive and strong negative reactions. I'm not a fan of bright saturated colors, and neons take saturation to an extra level, so...but in the current situation I guess there's something to be said for wearing cheerful colors even if they're a little tough on the eyes 😎
I think the same of Mary T.
ReplyDeleteQ Mathilde looks lovely in this yellow top, bright as sunshine.Wonderful idea for children to read, also adults.
ReplyDeleteExcellent idea. Just a pity that all libraries have had to close "for the duration"... I have never really enjoyed reading on a tablet but times they are achanging, and we might have to do so.
ReplyDeleteI would not want to be royal people are so mean to them. I say if you can't something good about someone's appearance don't say anything . Great job queen;)
ReplyDeleteSetting a good example, and a good challenge nicely presented! Keep well all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sensational idea and initiative. Great work from the Queen. We all should read more. The Queen couldn't have picked a better colour to brighten the day, she looks fantastic, when there is so much doom and gloom currently in the world, this was a breath of fresh air. Well done.
