I am surprised that such a visit is still possible in Sweden...

The country is not on lockdown and schools are still open there.

Glo, same mistake made by Italy. Hope Sweden does not pay the same price.

Matching in gray today. Nice suit business like. I am glad they are so involved, but they need to be careful of the virus.

  4. This is what the Guardian said on 23/03 : Sweden, which on Monday reported 2,016 confirmed coronavirus cases and 25 deaths, has shut universities and senior high schools, banned gatherings of more than 500, asked all citizens to avoid non-essential travel and advised those who feel ill and are aged over 70 to stay at home.
So wise from them to continue their visits?? Wise from Daniel to participate?

I am pretty sure that Prince Daniel is given excellent medical care. The prince will put himself in no danger. He has definitely received the green light from his doctors for this Engagement.

  5. My thoughts with Daniel's medical history I am surprised he is not staying home away from people as much as possible

  6. Very good visit.
I notice the bow blouse quota going down somewhat - it´s not 100% anymore :-)

  7. Why are they out? Seems unwise

    1. Catch 22 situation for them. If they stay in their ivory tower they are criticised. If they go out they are criticised. Prince Charles and Prince Albert have been caught in the same situation ?????
Pss Victoria looks great in her pants suit. Sober, understated and a very good choice for the occasion.
BIG thanks to the Swedish KTH institute for the work they are doing.

  8. Good to see them looking well and supporting the people who are working to improve the corona virus situation. This is one of Victoria's better trouser suits though I preferred it with the pink blouse.

Because they decided to learn as much as possible on how to fight the coronavirus? God, they must be horrible people for doing so. And also, Sweden is not on lockdown... but they probably should be, I guess.
But seriously, people need to take a chill pill. It’s not like they’re visiting a nursery home...learning about how to fight coronavirus is not a crime.

@12:10PM: Where they given some kind of top secret or urgent information about covid-19 that this meeting couldn't be held via skype?

The situation is getting worse, not weekly but daily now. Its clear it no longer only elderly at risk. Every new case will put more pressure on hospital stuff but they are already overworked. When Daniel gets sick, then yes, naturally he will get excellant medical care. Someone else won't.

Beds get full, medical stuff may get ill, who will treat then people who need care? We all have to protect medical stuff, vulnerable people, and try not get ill. Not take unnecessary chances and risks. So better avoid group meetings, close contacts. Keep distance. Hand washing is good but not enough to protect us.

People with mild or no symptoms could be already spreading without knowing it. They have stuff (e.g driver, bodyguard) who accompany them. They meet so many people... Sorry its just bad and irresponsible action. Sorry that seeing it makes me mad and sad.

PS: When looking at the pictures, all smiles and no worries. Chill.

Eh, please stay safe and healthy and take it seriously. Only then we can beat this.

I’m Norwegian, and we have kinda...not understood the Swedish approach to this pandemic and why they (the authorities) haven’t taken it as seriously as Norway when our countries are so similar.
But with that being said, at least these royals are on an engagement concerning COVID-19, and it won’t hurt to get as much information as possible :)

    1. It will be super interesting to see how (and if) the outcomes of the pandemic differ between countries with different approaches. So far, there is nothing suggesting that Sweden is any worse off than other countries, meaning that there´s no real reason for Swedes to reconsider their approach, or for us to question it.

I don't know really... Yesterday we got some news that 18 people had died in Stockholm (only Stockholm, not the rest of the country) in only 24 hours. Only 14 people have died in Norway so far during this entire pandemic.
But yes, it will be interesting to see.

This theory has already been tested, and it hasn't worked. Why would it work in Sweden when it has failed everywhere else?

  11. It's the Swedish Government's responsibility to call for a lockdown and as long as they don't, I am sure Victoria will try her level best to help Sweden out and Daniel will stand by her.

Amazing they would go to a serology lab;and no Hazmat suits. The food is not suitable, and certainly touching the coffee pot is not ideal. Their clothes is sombre ;but they are smiling;a bit incongruent. Tara
