Dutch Princess Laurentien attended the Valentine's Day event

Princess Laurentien of The Netherlands attended the Valentine's Day event at the NS Railways Utrecht Centraal railway station in Oudegracht. To draw attention to the urgency and importance of real contact, a special "slow-date living room" has been set up at Utrecht Central Station.

  1. Princess Laurentien looks fabulous in her red, hot pink, and black ensemble. Her earrings are terrific. She always seems happy with whatever event she attends, and, in this case, she literally places herself on the same level of the other participants. She is becoming one of my favorites.

@Lily T. - Laurentien and the others seem to be enjoying themselves; but yes, she seems to be really outgoing here in these few photos.

She is dressed nicely for the occasion, not in one of her usual odd combinations. She looks appropriate in her red outfit. I'm wondering if she cuts her own hair (it looks like my own hack job).

It looks like they all had a good time. I especially like the photo of Laurentien & the little girl ready to hug.

  3. I love her outwardness, her gayness and above all her smiles. Fashion wise, she does her own thing with outfits and accessories and you either like it or hate it.

  4. L'harmonie des couleurs rouge, fuchsia et noir va à merveille à la princesse ; avec les boucles d'oreilles, c'est parfait... Elle sait toujours faire preuve d'empathie !

Don't care much for the suit. But great interaction with the little girl and others. She was and made someones Valentine. Great event.

  6. The Dutch are good at ‘thinking outside the box’. Great event, n done in one of their major train stations. How amazing for her to be on her knees; the modern royals. She is the real deal. I think she has also recently lost weight n looks in great shape.

She looks elegant in her hot pink suit . I think she is ageing fast , her skin looks tiered .

  9. What a fantastic event. The Pss is so enthusiastic, bubbly and vivacious its contagious. Everyone around her was laughing and smiling, getting into the spirit of things. Bringing people in for a cuddle, good on her. This is what I call 'Mission Accomplished". She is highly impressive and a great asset, she looks to enjoy what she does and it shows. The colour of her outfit is superb. I love how she got down to eye level to the little girl.

She has a good face, but I mostly allways dislike her way of clothing, screaming: look at me, I am a very special person.

What a good egg! I love the idea that P Laurentien got stuck in and wore red and pink on Valentines day, then went and gave out hugs at a special section of the railway station that helps people feel more connected and less lonely. It's corny, but it's so important. And I'm sure everyone she met with was charmed. It seems like a "little" event in the grand scheme of royal outings, but makes her appear very down to earth. I always admire that her sense of style is very much her own.

The Dutch princes all married intelligent, warm-hearted and charismatic women, and Laurentien is no exception. She seems to be a lovely and bubbly personality, like Máxima. And just like Máxima, her fashion taste surely isn’t dull or too conservative, and I personally like it a lot. Perfect colour for a Valentine’s Day event! Wonderful also to see a non-operated, naturally maturing face, which acts as a record of a lifetime of laughs and happiness!

Kara, you seem to know a lot about women who you have never met. But when they laugh a lot and
put their arms around children often, you believe that they are warm and bubbly and charismatic.
I, for one, would not like it at all to be embraced by Laurentien when she wants to do so for publicity purposes, so condenscending....You try to kiss her when you feel like it, fat chance.

Dear Lily, how do you know for sure that she wants to do so for publicity purposes...? And based on those photos, it might as well have been the little girl who initiated the actual hug. I don't see anything condenscending in those pictures. And, you may notice that I, too, used the word "seem" -- so I did'nt claim to know those women. But you don't get those lovely laugh lines for nothing -- at her age (and mine) your personality begins to show on your face, assuming that you don't resort to plastic surgery.

As a final point, I think it's best to try to stay positive also when commenting the photos here.

    BR, Kara

Kara, it is tricky to go beyond fashion on basis of pictures only. And what is the point of commenting if everything has to be positive? Some fashion choices are not to everybody’s liking. Fawning over presumed character qualities can best be avoided, same as the contrary, because we simply do not know.
