The Countess of Wessex visited Aberdeen Women’s Centre

On the last day of her working visit to Sierra Leone, the Countess of Wessex visited the Aberdeen Women’s Centre. The Countess visited a ward in the health clinic and met recently treated children. The Countess had the opportunity to talk privately with some adult survivors. Then, The Countess laid a wreath on the Freetown’s King Tom Commonwealth Cemetery to commemorate the victims of the first and second world wars. The low cut, open blouses are not appropriate for the occasions she is wearing them for. They gape, fall open at any given moment, especially when she is bending over.... JT

    1. I dont know what photos you are looking at as the ones I am getting show a very discreet neckline with a tie-string which the Countess has tied in a bow. Not low cut by any stretch of the imagination.

In the 3rd photo, you can see how low the neckline falls, even though it has been tied, it still provides and negative neckline for the occasion of where she is, and the bending over that she is doing in several of the photos. Descreet is not my perspective in how one would describe this blouse. Thanks for sharing your perspective. We each have our own view points and I am glad for this blog that allows us to share our perspectives. :) .... JT

Actually, the flow of the fabrics of the Countesses ensemble looks very nice and cool, and I wouldn't have thought of putting those two colour tones together, but to me they work quite well. Almost like the African soil and sky that I lived with for many years, so may be that's why I like them. I didn't think I would like the slight sheen on the skirt either, but I do. Good work, Countess Sophie.

  4. Très jolie jupe en satin de soie dont la couleur va à merveille à sa blondeur mais je ne la trouve pas bien harmonisée avec le haut ; bien belle quand même !

  5. The Countess of Wessex is a practical, sensible lady who dresses appropriately and, when representing the UK and Queen, seems never to draw attention to herself, but the project at hand. In this instance, I like her blue maxi skirt and mauve blouse. Her ballet flats are perfect. She is a hardworking royal.

Last day in Africa. I like the skirt and top, she looks lovely.I hope she get everything done she wanted to do. She only had 3 day's there. Nice that she got lots of coverage.

    1. I wished she got more coverage! She does excellent work, trying to support worthy causes and not trying to be the center of attention. Maybe now she will be featured more.

I like the colour combination here. C. Sophie dresses in a practical way which never upstages her hosts. The message is that she’s there to work and to learn. (V.M.)

She is there to draw attention to the charities, but she don't manage very well, because she is not very interesting person. Lisa

I think her clothing is appropriate and comfortable.

What really "makes" her look is her obvious devotion to the task at hand.

She is a great asset to the royal family

  11. This has been a marvellous visit and the Countess has done exceedingly well. She goes about her duties in a quiet and gentle way, some of the things I admire about her the most, apart from her wonderful work ethic. Well done.

You have no idea how much I love those people telling Royals what's not appropriate….they are so very entertaining!

  14. I love Sophie but really not keen on this outfit as a whole. The bronze coloured top is probably the best bit and I certainly can't see anything the slightest bit inappropriate about it. While the shoes are probably necessary for walking in the rough ground of the cemetery, they are ugly and do little for the overall outfit. Perhaps a pair of heels might have rescued it. I like the colour of the skirt but don't find satin skirts flattering on anything other than the pencil thin so overall it's not a good grade from me. Sophie, herself, however, efficient, understated and hardworking always gets top marks.
