Russian oligarchs and aristocratic second-class riches show off their luxury. I'm sad this blog pays attention to these people. And as for fashion. Here we see that taste can not be bought for any money.
I'll use the words from Mitchell's novel "Gone with the Wind," when nanny said to Scarlett O'Hara: "They're mules in a horse harness."

  4. My goodness. Dasha must be quite the VIP.

Enjoyed the brief glimpse of wedding reception finery; Beatrice Borromeo Casiraghi’s dress looks attractively festive. The bride’s winter white cloak lends a fairytale vibe to her look. Can’t say I like the silly faux-Russian party garb worn by some; it seems neither dignified nor respectful.

Including that worn by a Russian woman - just a guess but she might have said something to her husband if she found it disrespectful and "faux".

    2. Dear G, people often disrespect or make light of their own heritage; this can be regarded in different ways depending on the circumstances. IMO the costumes worn by the group in the next-to-last photo look like “joke” caricatures of traditional Russian attire, and I stand by my opinion that it is a disrespectful look.

  6. I cannot stand that pout displayed by Marie-Chantal and Olympia. Too posh to smile?
I agree that they look both fake and tasteless. Why go to all the high society events - only to pretend not to enjoy them?
Beatrice and Alexandra seem a lot more genuine.
    The bride looks beautiful.

I agree: they both fancy themselves being very beautiful whereas especially MO looks rediculous most of the times and not too bright either......

I am asking the same: who are they, VIP persons ??
Pavlos,Marie-Chantal and Olympia are ex-royals, have no 'of Greece' titles, perhaps Pavlos has kept his Prince of Denmark ? Marie-Chantal has never been a princess. They were married decades after Greece became a republic!

I like Charlotte’s outfit for walking around the shops on a cold day. The shoes aren’t my favorite. Alexandra and Beatrice look great. I love the relationship Caroline’s kids and their spouses have with each other. The bride’s winter white coat is stunning.
What is going on with Christian’s hair? I dont know what to make of his wife’s or the Greek royals headpieces and hats. They remind me of the props one would find in a photo booth.

A step aside from fashion: The Niarchos family was one of the richest families of Greece already when Greece still was a monarchy (and near the royal family). Pavlos is related to the Windsors and the Danish royals. The Windsors of Britain are actually a side branch of the Hannovers - who in turn descend from the emperors of the medieval St. Empire. Even the princes of Monaco are related to the British royal family through QEQM. It seems that there was a great number of extended family.

  16. Gosh! No comments about folks not being Royal! The vacuous partying Casiraghi clan plus the Clown Prince, wife and bratty daughter! Exactly how can one be a Clown oops, Crown when there isn’t a kingdom or a thrown on which to ascend?
